If I were to be completely honest, finding the perfect moisturizer for oily skin is a bigger struggle than finding great serums. Oily, acne-prone skin needs a moisturizer that is non-greasy, that can tackle acne and can leave the skin soft and supple. The Vaunt BBFF Moisturizer is one of those rare gems that ticks all the right boxes for me. It is a product that I have been getting a lot of questions about too. Some of you from my Instagram family have been asking me exactly what to expect from this formulation. Today’s post is going to address these questions.

What is the Vaunt BBFF Moisturizer?
The Vaunt BBFF Moisturizer is a cream-based moisturizer with a buffet of ingredients that boost the skin’s protective barrier and diminish the signs of ageing. Even the name BBFF stands for Barrier Boost Face Formula, which suggests that it is an excellent product for those with a damaged barrier, and also those who wish to protect their barrier in general. Our skin’s natural barrier may weaken due to aging, over-exfoliation, or the use of products with a harsh pH. This moisturizer can help to strengthen a damaged or degrading barrier with the help of skin-identical ingredients, such as L-Arginine, Phospholipids and Sodium Hyaluronate.
The formula also contains a blend of plant oils that act as emollients to soften the skin, along with humectants to hydrate the skin. Additionally, it contains Licorice extracts to soothe the skin. Above all of this, the two star ingredients of the Vaunt BBFF Moisturizer are Niacinamide and Bakuchiol. Both these ingredients are multi-tasking skin care gems, that help to brighten the skin, reduce signs of ageing and prevent acne.
The Benefits
To sum it up, the Vaunt BBFF Moisturize helps to moisturize, protect and strengthen the skin while curbing acne and signs of ageing. The product is fragrance-free and essential oil free, which makes it suitable for even sensitive skin. It settles to an almost matte finish on the skin while providing ample hydration. Hence, all skin types can use this moisturizer and can layer it with oils and serums as per their specific needs.

How to use the Vaunt BBFF Moisturizer
The Vaunt BBFF Moisturizer can be used on its own or on top of serums in both your AM and PM routines. It should work fine layered on top of most actives, but I will recommend patch testing any new combination of products before trying it on your face. I have personally used this moisturizer on top of the Vaunt Vitamin C Water as well as the Peau Care Clair Peau Serum without any adverse reaction. I also sometimes layer the Vaunt Tamanu and Cranberry Seed Oil or 100% Pure Squalane on top of the BBFF Moisturizer when my skin is feeling particularly dry. During the day, I layer my water-based serums under this moisturizer and a sunscreen on top of it. The brand suggests layering the moisturizer with any of their serums for the best results.
My Experience with the Product
I have almost emptied the 45ml bottle of the Vaunt BBFF Moisturizer because my skin has been loving it both in the morning and at night. I love how this product instantly adds a healthy softness to my skin without making it sticky or shiny. It settles down to a matte and invisible finish on my skin yet is sufficient to keep it moisturized on its own on most days. It also feels soothing on the skin and seems to tighten my pores a bit, giving a youthful look to my skin. I feel that as a moisturizer, this product can work across skin types and can help those whose skin is sensitive or damaged from the overuse of actives. Dry-skinned people may want to layer an oil on top while normal to oily-skinned people should find it sufficient on its own.
Independently, it is a great moisturizer for all skin types. However, the true magic happens when I layer it with the Vaunt Vitamin C Water. Both products work beautifully in sync and have managed to reduce my stubborn hyperpigmentation in about a month’s time. This duo has also managed to keep my acne at bay and even my monthly breakout has not been as bad as before. I will urge you try this combination if you have oily, blemish-prone skin like mine.
My Verdict
Whether on its own, or in combination with other actives, the Vaunt BBFF Moisturizer has truly impressed me and I am going to keep restocking it till the brand continues to make this gem. Trust me and get your hands on this beauty, you will love it!
