The thing I love the most about Vaunt Skincare is that they don’t blindly run after trends. They come up with well thought out and well-tested products and do not confuse us with scores of launches every month. Staying true to their ethos of minimalistic and effective skincare, they recently came up with two products – the Vaunt VC12 Intermediate Vitamin C Serum and The Calm Cream. I already love their original Vitamin C water that is beginner friendly, and their BBFF moisturizer is a holy grail product for me. Let us see how these new launches compare to their existing bestsellers and how they fared for me.

Vaunt VC12 Intermediate Serum | Review
The Vaunt VC12 Intermediate Serum is a Vitamin C serum with 12% Ethyl Ascorbic Acid and a blend of peptides as its hero ingredients. It is called the intermediate serum because it has a higher concentration of Vitamin C than their Vitamin C water, which is suitable for beginners. If you have used the latter for a while now, perhaps it is time to graduate to VC12!
The Texture and Formula of Vaunt VC12 Vitamin C Serum
The Vaunt VC12 Intermediate Serum is a colorless, watery liquid. I have been using it for more than a month now and the color of the transparent serum has not changed at all. It feels just like cool water on the skin and has a soothing effect. It sinks into the skin almost instantly due to its watery consistency and is not sticky, slimy or greasy. Apart from Ethyl ascorbic acid and a peptide complex, the serum also contains centella asiatica, amla extracts and hyaluronic acid. Moreover, it is fragrance-free and essential oil free.
Ingredients – Aqua, 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, Centella Asiatica Extract, Amla Extract, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 (and) Glycerin (and) Aqua, Hydroxypropyl Cyclodextrin (and) Palmitoyl Tripeptide-38, Phenoxyethanol (and) Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Gluconate, Hyaluronic Acid

The Claims
This unique blend of Vitamin C and peptides claims to tackle hyperpigmentation, fine lines, and dark spots. It reduces free radical damage, encourages collagen generation, improves skin texture, and makes the skin plump and radiant.

Which Skin Types Can Use The Vaunt VC12 Intermediate Serum?
Because of its watery consistency and irritant-free formulation, the Vaunt VC12 Intermediate Serum should suit all skin types. If you do not like thick or sticky serums then this one will be perfect for you. If you are new to Vitamin C, go slow in the beginning and slowly increase the frequency of use. As always, patch test before using it for the first time.
Vaunt VC12 Intermediate Serum vs Vaunt Vitamin C Water
- Vaunt Vitamin C water is a beginner-friendly formula with 5% Vitamin C whereas VC12 has a higher percentage (12%) of Vitamin C.
- Both the serums have a watery, light-weight consistency.
- Vitamin C Water is made with Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate while VC12 is made using Ethyl Ascorbic Acid. Both are stable forms of Vitamin C but Ethyl Ascorbic Acid is often considered more potent in skincare applications.
- VC12 also contains peptides that reduce wrinkles and fine lines.
Hence, Vaunt Vitamin C water is more suitable for beginners, but VC12 might provide faster results and additional anti-aging benefits. So, go for VC12 if you are sure that your skin won’t be irritated by 12% Vitamin C.

My Experience With Vaunt VC12 Intermediate Serum
I have been using the Vaunt VC12 serum in the morning underneath moisturizer and sunscreen for over a month now. After a month, I can see a visible reduction in the fine lines and hyperpigmentation that I have on my face. This was the only active that I used during the day, although I did use other actives at night. I feel this one did have a role to play in brightening and plumping up my skin and reducing my acne blemishes.
Overall, I feel that the Vaunt VC12 Intermediate Serum is one of the best vitamin C serums for oily skin, and for all skin types in general. Priced at INR 850 for 30ml, it is a fairly affordable product, plus you get an additional 15% off with my Vaunt Coupon Code – MRI15!

Vaunt Calm Cream | Review
Are you ever hassled by the fact that every moisturizer these days is loaded with actives? Do you feel uncertain about layering such moisturizers on top of your serums because of the risk of irritating your skin? Well, the Vaunt Calm Cream is the solution! This active-free moisturizer is the perfect soothing product to layer on top of any actives. It calms and moisturizes the skin without the slightest risk of reacting with your serums. Here is everything you need to know about it!
The Texture And Formula Of The Vaunt Calm Cream
The Calm Cream has a creamy lotion consistency that spreads easily on the skin. It sinks within a minute and settles to a slightly dewy finish on the skin without being greasy or sticky. It has a cooling and calming effect on the skin instantly, and offers a good amount of moisture too. The heroes of this formulation are calming ingredients like Cica and Oats, and moisturizing ingredients like Macadamia Oil, Olive Squalane, and Pentavitin. Plus, this moisturizer is free of alcohol, fragrance, and essential oils.
Ingredients – Centella Asiatica Extract, Xylitylglucoside (and) Anhydroxylitol (and) Xylitol, Squalane, Calendula Officinalis Extract,  Diheptyl Succinate (and) Capryloyl Glycerin/Sebacic Acid Copolymer, Cold Pressed Macadamia Ternifolia oil, Acrylamide/Sodium Acryloyldimethyltaurate Copolymer (and) Isohexadecane (and) Polysorbate 80, Saccharide Isomerate (and) Aqua (and) Citric Acid (and) Sodium Citrate, Aqua (and) Phospholipids (and) Sphingolipids, Linoleic and Linolenic Acid, Phenoxyethanol (and) Ethylhexylglycerin, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Oil, Polyacrylate-13 (and) Polyisobutene (and) Polysorbate 20, Acrylamide/Sodium Acryloyldimethyltaurate Copolymer (and) Isohexadecane (and) Polysorbate 80, Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Gluconate.

The Claims
A no-frills moisturizer that will calm, protect and hydrate your skin. It claims to reduce redness and inflammation and to plump up and moisturize the skin.
Which Skin Types Can Use The Vaunt Calm Cream?
I feel that dry to normal skin types will really enjoy The Calm Cream. Those with slightly oily skin should like it too if you do not mind a slight sheen to your face. Very oily skin may find it a little heavy, even though the moisturizer is non-greasy and non-sticky.
Vaunt Calm Cream vs Vaunt BBFF Moisturizer
- Vaunt Calm Cream is an active-free product (unless you count HA as an active), making it suitable for layering on top of active-based serums and as a standalone moisturizer for sensitive skin. BBFF has actives that can help with acne and pigmentation.
- Vaunt Calm Cream has a slightly dewy finish, which super oily skin may not like. BBFF has a matte/invisible finish that can work for super oily skin too.
- Vaunt Calm Cream is great for layering on top of exfoliants or after a chemical peel. BBFF may not work well with all exfoliants, patch test is much needed in this case.

My Experience With Vaunt Calm Cream
I love to slather this moisturizer on my face every single day but appreciate it the most when my skin feels slightly dry or sensitive after using strong exfoliants. True to its claims, it calms, moisturizes and plumps up my skin. Definitely a must have for those who use acids on a regular basis, and is also perfect as a standalone moisturizer for a simple routine.
The Calm Cream is priced at INR 745 for 45ml and you can get an additional 15% off with my Vaunt Coupon Code – MRI15. Click here to shop!
