The recently launched Nykaa So Creme Lipsticks have taken the beauty community by storm because they come in 18 stunning shades and are priced at a super affordable INR 299 each. I picked up 6 shades from the range which I thought would be beautiful everyday shades for medium skin tones. Do keep on reading for a detailed review of the formula along with crystal clear swatches!

The Packaging
The Nykaa So Creme Lipsticks are bullet lipsticks that come in a super cute colour-coded packaging. I particularly love the black stripes on the lids which set these lipsticks apart from other affordable lipsticks. Of course, the packaging is made out of light weight plastic and you can’t expect much more for the price, but it does not feel cheap and doesn’t break if you accidentally drop it. The bullet is attached securely to the casing and doesn’t feel rattly or wobbly. These lipsticks look extremely attractive on my vanity when stacked up together because of their beautiful colours.

The Formula
The Nykaa So Creme Lipsticks have a creamy and pigmented formula that glides smoothly on the lips and provide opaque pigmentation in 1-2 swipes depending on the shade. It feels very light-weight and hydrating on the lips and is extremely comfortable to wear. The brand has marketed these as creamy mattes, but they do have a slight sheen under direct light as you can see in the lip swatches below. I would say that they have a satiny demi-matte finish because they do not have much of a sheen indoors but have a satiny sheen under direct sunlight or artificial lighting. In terms of texture and opacity, the formula is quite similar to that of the Nykaa So Matte Lipsticks, but these lipsticks have more of a sheen to them.
The formula is not transferproof and transfers slightly every time I eat or drink something although it does fade quite evenly and leave behind a tint, so you may not need to retouch the lighter shades immediately after a light meal or a couple of drinks. An oily meal will remove the lipstick almost entirely from the center of the lips. The product lasts on the lips for up to 6 hours if you do not eat or drink too much. One possible con of the formula is that it has a cherry syrup fragrance that lingers for some time on the lips and those who are sensitive to such scents might not appreciate this.

The Shade Range
The Nykaa So Creme Lipsticks are currently available in 18 shades that span across nudes of all undertones, pinks, reds and browns. I love how they have included shades to suit a range of Indian skintones and being a nude lover, I must say that the nudes are very pretty and quite unique too. Here is an overview of the shades that I picked.

Day Dreaming – Cool toned pink with slight Mauvish undertones

Walk the Walk – Warm-toned deep pink with reddish undertones

Break A Leg – Warm-toned, earthy pinkish nude with hints of red and brown

Let it Snooze – Warm-toned light caramel brown

You’re Latte – Slightly cool toned, almost neutral nude brown with pinkish undertones

Deja Nude – Warm toned deep chocolate brown with slight reddish undertones.
My Final Verdict on the Nykaa So Creme Lipsticks
I think that the Nykaa So Creme Lipsticks are a bargain for the price and you must pick at least one shade as long as you don’t mind a satin sheen to your lipsticks. The quality of the formula is way better than I expected and therefore I recommend it to everyone, other than those who don’t like anything but flat mattes or those who hate a fragrance in their lipsticks.
