I have reviewed different shades of the Nykaa So Matte Lipstick on the blog on numerous occasions in the past. It is a creamy matte lipstick that is comfortable to wear and lasts for a decent amount of time on the lips. I recently received another mini from the range as a freebie and this one is in the shade Totes Natural (48M). Read on to find out my review and swatches of this shade as well as comparison with other nude shades from Nykaa.
You can check out my detailed review of the So Matte formula from Nykaa in my previous blog posts, but to summarize, it is a creamy matte with a slight amount of sheen. It lasts on my lips for up to 8 hours but fades slightly and evenly after each meal. If you are someone who cannot tolerate anything except a pure matte lipstick then you may want to invest in the Nykaa Ultra Matte lipsticks instead, but if you are looking for a comfortable demi-matte formula then the So Matte lipsticks will fit your bill.
Coming to the shade Totes Natural (48M), I was afraid that this colour will wash me out because the shade Cinnamon Crunch (50M) is a little too light for me. However, Totes Natural does not wash me out at all and is probably the lightest nude I can pull off with my skin tone (NC35). It is a “my lips but better colour” which has brownish undertones, as opposed to Cinnamon Crunch which is lighter and peachier. Totes Natural looks pretty on me on its own but looks even better with a smokey eye. If you are even a shade darker than me in foundation then it will wash you out. I am attaching the comparison swatches of some of the nudes that I own from Nykaa for your reference.
Overall, I feel that the So Matte range from Nykaa is so vast that everybody can find a colour that will suit their skin tone. Also, with the mini versions from the range being available at INR 199 only, you can play around and experiment with different shades without breaking the bank. I will highly recommend picking up a few shades from the range if you love creamy matte lipsticks.
