The trouble with hair masks usually is that they either do not remove all the frizz in my hair or if they do then they also weight it down and make it look flat. I recently gave the Palmer’s Natural Fusions Chia Seed and Argan Oil Hair Mask a go, because I loved the shampoo and conditioner from this range so much, and faced neither of those problems with this hair mask. Here is a detailed review of the product.
The Packaging
The Palmer’s Natural Fusions Chia Seed and Argan Oil Hair Mask comes in a black jar with a screw on lid like most hair masks in the market. The label has the same botanical print as the shampoo and conditioner from the range, which I quite like. The jar is pretty sturdy and leakproof, but it is quite heavy, and I feel that it is difficult to travel with due to the weight. You get 270gm of product in the jar, which should last you for 10-15 washes at least, depending on the length of your hair.
The Formula
The Palmer’s Natural Fusions Chia Seed and Argan Oil Hair Mask is free of parabens, phthalates and sulfates, and I can’t seem to find any silicones on the ingredient list either. This creamy hair mask contains Chia Seed and Argan Oil as its star ingredients. Chia Seed is supposed to help with strengthening and protecting new hair whereas argan oil is widely known to add shine and smoothness to dull and lifeless hair. Apart from these two ingredients, the formula also contains a bunch of nourishing seed oils to hydrate and repair dull and dry hair. This hair mask contains fragrance, which is mildly floral, a meeker version of the fragrance of the shampoo and conditioner from the range.
My Experience with the Palmer’s Natural Fusions Chia Seed and Argan Oil Hair Mask
The first time I used this hair mask, I wasn’t too impressed as I did not see much of a difference to my hair, but to be honest I had only left it on my hair for 5 minutes or so, instead of the recommended 15-20 minutes. The next time, I made it a point to leave the product on my damp hair for 10-15 minutes, and once my hair was fully dry afterwards, I was surprised at how smooth, frizz-free and tamed it looked without any heat styling. This product reduced the frizz while bringing out my natural curls and did not weigh my hair down at all. It made my hair manageable, which is usually unthinkable without heat styling in the dry, cold weather. It detangles, softens, and smoothens the hair and the effect lasts for 2-3 days at least. If you are someone with very dry hair then you can also use it as an overnight mask and wash it in the morning for super soft and hydrated hair. For my fine hair though, using it 1-2 times a week on damp, shampooed hair for 15 minutes does the trick.
The product is priced at INR 760, but you can usually get it for INR 570 during sales on Nykaa. At this price, it is a very good hair mask and I will highly urge those with dull, dry and lifeless hair to try it out.
