If you have been reading my blog posts since quite some time, you would know that I am not easily impressed by haircare products. My hair is the evil combination of oily roots and dry, frizzy ends, and very few products are able to strike the right balance to cater to both these concerns. This is why I was left pleasantly surprised by how the Palmer’s Natural Fusions Rose Water Cleanser and Conditioner transformed my hair from the very first wash. Read on to find out whether this haircare duo is meant for you or not.
The Palmer’s Natural Fusions Micellar Rose Water Cleanser and Lavender Rose Water Conditioner are free of parabens, sulfates, mineral oil, and phthalates and are enriched with natural ingredients such as rose water, coconut oil, argan oil, lavender extracts, etc. I received the PR samples of these products, hence they came in black tubes, but the full-sized versions come in beautiful 350ml bottles with a similar botanical print on them. The first thing that you will notice about these products, even before removing the seal, is the heavenly scent of roses. This subtle yet soothing scent will linger on your hair for a couple of days after the wash too. Let us now move on to the actual efficacy of the two products.
The Palmer’s Natural Fusion Micellar Rose Water Cleanser is a very unique clarifying shampoo. While most clarifying shampoos are quite drying on the hair, this one uses a micellar technology to suck out the dirt and product buildup from the scalp without stripping it dry. It is a clear liquid with a beautiful floral fragrance which does not lather much on the hair at all but still manages to remove the grease and grime from the scalp quite effectively. You need to use the same quantity of this product as you would any other shampoo even though this doesn’t lather as much. Also, it will not be a good pick for the days when you have oiled your hair, so you may need a foaming shampoo for oiled hair and then do a second cleanse with this one. However, on regular days when you haven’t oiled your scalp, this shampoo will be able to remove all traces of dirt with ease. It leaves the scalp clean but does not dry out the hair, I was a bit a worried that it will leave my hair looking greasy, but it actually leaves the roots looking smooth and shiny, not too bouncy, but not flat either. It gives that healthy finish to my roots which most volumizing shampoos fail to do, and my scalp doesn’t get greasy enough to wash for the next 2-3 days. It is therefore perfect for my coloured hair because it gets the job done while being extremely gentle.
Coming to the conditioner, it is a white creamy liquid with a milder floral scent. I apply it from my mid-lengths to the tips of my hair and leave it on for around 5 minutes before rinsing off. Again, I felt that it will not be able to do much for my frizzy, dry ends, but even while the conditioner is on, I can feel how smooth and soft this product makes my hair. From the very first use, it brought out the natural wave in my hair beautifully, which is something that a conditioner has never done for me before. It gives a nice balance between taming the frizz and retaining the natural waviness of my hair. While most hair masks and conditioners either fail at smoothening my hair or smoothen it so much that my hair falls flat and limp, this conditioner strikes the right balance and leaves me with healthy-looking, smooth waves that do not need any further styling.
If you have come so far, I am sure you can easily guess my final verdict on these products. I cannot recommend them enough for those with wavy, frizzy hair with an oily scalp. They are both priced at INR 750 for a 350ml bottle but are completely worth the investment in my opinion. I will definitely be purchasing the full-sized versions of these products once I am done with these tubes and am also intrigued to try out the Chia Argan Hair Mask from the range. Do get your hands on the shampoo and conditioner duo asap and let me know how it worked for you in the comments below!
