Do actives in wash-off products really make sense? The skincare rule book says that anti-acne ingredients like Salicylic Acid and Benzoyl Peroxide in wash-off products are actually effective while being gentler than leave-on treatments. However, the general verdict on actives like Vitamin C, Niacinamide, and Retinol in wash-off products is that they won’t get enough time to work on your skin and you may as well save your money and invest in the respective serums instead. However, at the end of the day, formulation is king, and I have recently stumbled upon a wash-off Vitamin C range that impressed me! The Pure By Priyanka Vitamin C Enriched Face Wash and Mask are worth your money if an instant glow is what you are looking for. Here are my thoughts on these two after emptying the cleanser and digging my way half-way through the mask.

Pure By Priyanka Vitamin C Enriched Face Wash
The Pure By Priyanka Vitamin C Face Wash is an SLS-free face wash that claims to provide an instant boost of radiance to the skin. It has a gel consistency that lathers fairly well on the skin and removes excess oil with ease without stripping the skin dry. Apart from mild surfactants, the cleanser contains Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, which is a mild Vitamin C derivative. It also contains soothing ingredients like Panthenol and Aloe, along with brightening and anti-acne ingredients like Mulberry extracts, Licorice extracts, and Neem.
This face wash leaves my oily skin soft, supple and radiant. It also helps to control acne as an added bonus. To be honest, I wasn’t sure if a face wash could truly have a brightening effect but this one really does. Like I said, formulation is king!
I will recommend this face wash for those with oily and dull skin. The price is INR 795 for 100ml, which is a bit steep, but you can get a whopping 20% off with my code – MRINALINI20 which makes it a good deal!

Pure By Priyanka Vitamin C Face Mask
The Pure By Priyanka Vitamin C Face Mask is a beautiful product for dull and acne-prone skin. This is a ready to use mask with a creamy consistency that spreads easily on the skin. It is therefore perfect for the lazy days when you don’t want to deal with powder masks, and is travel-friendly too.
Formulation-wise, the mask contains white kaolin, zinc oxide and bentonite clay that soak up the excess oil and fight acne too. It also contains 2.5% Ascorbic Acid powder to add that healthy glow to the skin. What I love is that the brand has balanced these potent ingredients with soothing ones like colloidal oat powder, calendula extracts, and centella asiatica. Perhaps due to these calming ingredients, the mask does not tingle or irritate the skin at all.
It does a fine job at sucking out the gunk and oil from the pores without leaving the skin dry or stretched out. It also helps my active acne heal faster. And the glow that you get after washing off this mask is too obvious not to notice! Check out the instagram reel I have linked below if you don’t believe me 🙂
This face mask is priced at INR 1000 for 100gm, which again is a little hefty, but becomes easier on the pocket with my 20% discount code – MRINALINI20

My Final Thoughts On The Pure By Priyanka Vitamin C Range
Overall, I am quite impressed with the Pure By Priyanka Vitamin C Face Wash and Mask. I will recommend them to oily and dull skin for instant overall glow. I do not think they will help much to lighten stubborn dark spots or acne marks but are great for overall radiance and help with acne as well. If you only have the budget to pick one of these then go for the mask, but they do work really well when paired together. I do not see any cons to these products as such, but I do wish for more luxurious packaging from the brand as they grow! Excited to see what this brand comes up with next 🙂
