So Nykaa Naturals recently launched a new range of shampoos and conditioners. I must admit, I was skeptical initially. I felt – another new haircare launch? However, once I tried their Apple Cider Vinegar & Ginger Shampoo and Conditioner, I was blown away! Finally we have an affordable haircare range in India that adds volume to fine hair without drying it out! This is one haircare launch that we needed and deserved! Now, I have given away the major spoiler already, but do keep on reading for my detailed review of the Nykaa Naturals Shampoo & Conditioner.

The Packaging
I don’t think I need to tell you that the packaging of the Nykaa Naturals Shampoo & Conditioner gets 5 stars in the aesthetics departments. They have two variants in the range, a lavender one with onion and fenugreek and a pink one with apple cider and ginger. Not only is the packaging super cute, it is also leak-proof, travel-friendly and sturdy. Plus, the complete list of ingredients is mentioned on the packaging. Full props to Nykaa on this front!

The Ingredients
The Nykaa Naturals Apple Cider and Ginger Shampoo and Conditioner are free of SLS and SLES. This is excellent news because Sulphates are some of the most drying surfactants out there and are also not recommended for coloured hair. Additionally, both the products contain natural ingredients such as Apple Cider Vinegar, Ginger and Shea Butter in the first half of the ingredient list, which means that the name Nykaa Naturals is truly justified. I hate when brands hero their natural ingredients in their marketing campaigns but these natural ingredients are present only in trace amounts towards the end of the ingredient list. Luckily, this is not the case with this haircare range.
The shampoo contains gentle surfactants derived from coconut, which cleanse the hair and scalp without stripping it dry. Both the products also have a mild fruity fragrance which is quite pleasant but not overwhelming. The conditioner does contain silicones along with natural moisturizing agents but I personally do not mind it. In fact, my dry and frizzy ends always need silicones to tame them, and I do not think they damage my hair. Moreover, if you are worried about the buildup of silicones on your hair, you can always use a clarifying shampoo once or twice a month to reverse it.

My Experience with the Nykaa Naturals Apple Cider & Ginger Shampoo & Conditioner
The texture of both the Nykaa Naturals Shampoo and Conditioner is pretty creamy. The first time I used the shampoo, I was worried that it was too creamy and thick to get rid of all the grease on my oily scalp, but it managed to do a fantastic job! In just one cleanse, the shampoo gets rid of all the dirt and grease on my scalp and roots. It also lifts my roots and makes my fine hair look voluminous. Even my husband noticed that my hair had extra volume the first time I used this shampoo, which is the true proof of the pudding! While other volumizing shampoos can be drying, this one leaves my hair feeling soft and hydrated, making it a winner in my book. It also leaves my scalp squeaky clean, without any flaking or itching, which is amazing.
Coming to the Nykaa Naturals Apple Cider Vinegar & Ginger Conditioner, this is the kind of conditioner you don’t need to follow up with a mask or serum. Because it contains silicones as well as shea butter, it softens, smoothens, and detangles the hair really well. My fine hair usually gets quite frizzy and knotty, but this conditioner leaves it non-frizzy and detangled, without weighing it down. It is the perfect one and done kind of a product for a busy weekday hair wash or even when you are travelling.
Overall, if you have fine hair with an oily scalp like me, do try out the Nykaa Naturals Apple Cider & Ginger Shampoo and Conditioner. The duo has been a winner for me and I highly recommend it!

This shampoo is the worst and review seems fake or paid.
Hi, this review is neither paid nor fake. Haircare is super subjective and what did not work for you may work for someone else. Hope you understand that every person’s experience and review is equally valid 🙂 Have a good day.
