AHAs and BHAs are skincare buzzwords this season, and according to me, they deserve all the hype that they are receiving. These exfoliating acids remove dead cells and boost cell renewal, thereby fighting against uneven skin tone, dullness, and pigmentation. While AHAs are water soluble and act largely on the surface of the skin, BHA’s are oil soluble and penetrate the pores to a greater extent. Therefore, BHA’s offer the additional advantage of preventing acne by cleaning out the pores. The higher the concentration of these acids in a product, the faster you see results. This is why at-home chemical peels are gaining so much popularity. A few years ago, we had to depend on international brands for such products, but of late, a lot of Indian skincare brands have stepped up their game. The latest AHA+BHA peel to hit the shelves is from the Tvakh Marine Range.
Today’s review is going to be all about the AHA+BHA Peeling Solution and Marine Micro Water Toner from Tvakh!

What The Tvakh Marine Range Is All About
The Tvakh Marine Range is a range of skincare products that is enriched with the benefits of algae and marine flower extracts. This proprietary blend of marine extracts is rich in antioxidants and minerals that fight against signs of aging and pollution. Each of the product from the Tvakh Marine Range contains this complex along with other skincare ingredients as per the product type. Today I will be talking about two products from the marine range, the Tvakh 25% AHA+BHA Peeling Solution and the Tvakh Full Moist Micro Water Toner.

Tvakh Marine Range 25% AHA+BHA Peeling Solution
The Tvakh 25% AHA+BHA Peeling Solution is perhaps the most awaited product from the Tvakh Marine Range. This is a chemical peel that contains a high concentration of AHAs and BHAs to remove dead cells, unclog the pores, reduce pigmentation and fade acne scars. The product contains 25% AHA in the form of Lactic Acid and Glycolic Acid along with 1% BHA in the form of Salicyclic Acid. It also contains peptides to strengthen the skin along with soothing ingredients such as Coconut Water. This peel has a slightly more viscous consistency than water and a mild fragrance which the brand claims is allergen free and IFRA certified.

How To Use The Tvakh 25% AHA+BHA Peeling Solution
Due to the high concentration of exfoliants in this peel, you are supposed to use this only once a week. All you need to do is apply a thin layer of product on clean, dry skin with your fingers and leave in on for 10 minutes. Avoid any patches of irritated skin or open wounds on your face. After 10 minutes, rinse off the peel with water and apply the Tvakh Full Moist Micro Water Toner to neutralize the pH and soothe your skin. Patch test is highly recommended before using this peel. You will experience a warm tingling sensation on your face during these 10 minutes, so those who have sensitive skin or are new to AHAs and BHAs are recommended to proceed with caution.
If you have never used AHAs and BHAs before then perhaps you should try a toner or serum with a lower concentration of these ingredients first and then try this one out after your skin becomes tolerant to exfoliants. If the tingling is too much for you then you can wash off the product after a few minutes and then slowly increase the duration to 10 minutes with every use.
My Experience with the Tvakh 25% AHA+BHA Peeling Solution
I have used chemical peels in the past, so I was expecting and was fine with the tingling sensation caused by this peel. It wasn’t too uncomfortable for me and my skin stopped tingling as soon as I washed off the peel and applied the toner on my face. From the very first use, this peel managed to add a glow to my skin and I could see that it had unclogged my pores. It also evens out the texture on my skin and my skin looks blurred and smooth after every use.
I have been using this peel once a week for a month now and I can see a visible reduction in my hyperpigmentation left behind from acne as well. It does leave my skin slightly sensitive and dry for the next 24 hours, so I load up on sunscreen and a soothing moisturizer every time I use this peel. Overall, the product lives up to all its claims and I will recommend it to all of you who are in the market for a potent chemical peel.
Tvakh Peeling Solution vs The Ordinary AHA+BHA Peel
Coming to the question that is on everybody’s mind, is the Tvakh Peeling Solution similar to the Ordinary AHA+BHA Peel. I have tried both the products and will have to say that the results offered by the Tvakh Peeling Solution are very very similar to that of the Ordinary Peel. Of course, the ingredient list is not identical, but in terms of how the products feel on the skin and how the skin looks afterwards, they are quite identical. The Tvakh Peeling Solution does leave the skin a tad bit more dry, but that can easily be addressed with a good moisturizer. Tvakh also contains fragrance, but it does not irritate my skin, and the brand is planning a fragrance-free range in the future too!
Coming to the price, the Tvakh Peeling Solution is priced at INR 850 for 60ml, while The Ordinary Peel costs around INR 700-800 for 30ml if you purchase it from Cult Beauty. You do the math, the Tvakh Peeling Solution is definitely a winner for me considering that it offers similar results at a more affordable price, and is readily available in India too!

Tvakh Marine Range Full Moist Micro Water Toner
Coming to the Tvakh Full Moist Micro Water Toner, which is supposed to be used in conjunction with the peeling solution. This toner has a watery consistency and is packed with soothing ingredients to calm the skin after the peel. It also contains hydrating ingredients and has a pH of around 5.5, which is similar to the skin’s natural pH. Since the peel has a low pH of around 3.5, this toner helps to bring back the pH of the skin to its natural value.

How To Use The Tvakh Full Moist Micro Water Toner
The Tvakh Full Moist Micro Water Toner comes with a spray, but the mist is not as fine as I would prefer. So, instead of spraying the product directly on my face, I spray it on a cotton pad or my fingers and then gently apply on my face. You are supposed to use this toner right after washing off the peel but can also use it daily, even on the days when you are not using the peel. You can layer up your hydrating serums and moisturisers on top of the toner but on the days that you use the peel, avoid any serums or creams that contain actives.
My Experience With The Tvakh Full Moist Micro Water Toner
As I mentioned before, the Tvakh Full Moist Micro Water Toner does a good job at soothing and cooling down the skin after using the peel. It is also mildly hydrating, but my skin demands way more hydration right after using the peel, so I layer it up with other hydrating and moisturising products. The fragrance of this toner does not irritate my skin, but my nose finds it a little overpowering. I am looking forward to the brand bringing out a fragrance-free version of the toner in the future, and perhaps a better spray that dispenses a fine mist.
Overall it is a decent soothing and hydrating toner and the price of INR 620 for 60ml is fairly affordable. If you already own a soothing and pH balancing toner then you don’t necessarily need to buy this but if you don’t then this toner is a must-have with the peel.
This brings us to the end of this super long and detailed review of two exciting products from the Tvakh Marine Range. I bid adieu to you with tired fingers and the hope that you found this review useful!
