Pigmented and dry lips are a major concern for a lot of us, and I am always on the hunt for the perfect lip balm. Over the course of several years, I have realized that rosehip oil and shea butter are two ingredients that work wonders for my lips. This is what attracted me to the Waasana Pigmentation Lip Butter that contains a bunch of nourishing ingredients for pigmented, chapped lips. The brand kindly sent me this product to review, and here are my thoughts on this lip balm.

The Formula
The Waasana Pigmentation Lip Butter comes in the form of a chapstick that melts into an oily consistency on the lips. It contains a bunch of interesting ingredients, such as coffee infused almond oil and cocoa butter. The presence of coffee and rosehip oil in the formula helps the lip balm fight pigmentation. Shea butter, cocoa butter and the nourishing oils help to moisturize the lips. Moreover, rosehip oil and shea butter are also known to prevent sun damage, which is a plus in our country’s weather conditions.
The product has a mild citrusy-herbal scent and a bitter after taste (in case you lip your lips like I do 😀 ).
List of Ingredients – Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Coffee Infused Almond Oil, Beetroot Infused Avocado Oil, Rosehip Oil, Olive Oil, Castor Oil, Beeswax, Vitamin E Oil, Sweet Orange Essential Oil and Lavender Essential Oil.

The Packaging
The Waasana Pigmentation Lip Butter comes in a convenient twist-up tube that makes it travel-friendly. I am someone who always prefers this kind of packaging to tubs, thanks to my long nails. It is extremely easy to use on the go and the label looks quite aesthetically pleasing too.

My Experience With The Waasana Pigmentation Lip Butter
Give me any lip product with shea butter and rosehip oil and I am a happy camper! From the very first time that I swatched the Waasana Pigmentation Lip Butter, I knew that I would be a fan. This product has an oily consistency but doesn’t feel heavy on the lips. It provides the perfect amount of moisture to dehydrated, chapped lips and soothes them too. There is a certain area on my upper lip where I often develop a dark, dry patch due to my allergies and this lip balm managed to heal it in 2 days. With most lip balms, the patch takes at least 5 days to heal completely but this one managed to zap it real quick.
In terms of texture and efficacy, I found this lip balm quite similar to the Juicy Chemistry Blood Orange and Rosehip lip balm, but the one from Waasana is less citrusy and less grainy.
Coming to the topic of pigmentation, I personally believe that if you have genetically pigmented lips, no lip balm can truly lighten them. However, since my lips had the pigmentation left behind from inflammation, this lip balm managed to reverse it. Rosehip as an ingredient is known to help with pigmentation to a certain extent, so if you have pigmentation caused by trauma or sun exposure, this lip balm might help. Also it will protect your lips from future sun damage. If I do see any change in the pigmentation of my lips after a few more weeks of use, I will post before and after pictures here.

My Verdict On The Waasana Lip Butter
Overall, if you are looking for a very nourishing lip balm that will also help reduce superficial pigmentation to some extent then the Waasana Pigmentation Lip Butter is a good option for you. The price of INR 330 is quite reasonable for the quality of ingredients too. However, please don’t expect miracles when it comes to pigmentation because that is governed by a lot of factors such as genetics, diet, lifestyle etc. If you go in with the right expectations, I am quite sure that you will enjoy this product.
Hey there! Thanks for this review. I know it’s been almost a year, but have you noticed any changes when it comes to pigmentation?
Haven’t used it continuously but it makes a slight difference to pigmentation. Don’t expect miracles though. Use it at night and a lip balm with spf during the day for best results
