If you know me then you know that I love a nice face oil for my oily skin. Yes, the right face oil or oil-based serum can help oily and acne-prone skin too! Today we are going to talk about one such oil-based serum from the brand Waasana. The brand was kind enough to send me across a few products to review, and as I had loved their anti-acne range and haircare range in the past, I was thrilled to try these new products out. So without much ado, here is my review of the Waasana Clarifying Serum.

The Waasana Clarifying Serum is an oil-based serum with grapeseed oil as the base ingredient. It also has hemp seed oil and pumpkin seed oil along with a bunch of essential oils. Grapeseed oil is a non-comedogenic, light-weight oil that moisturizes the skin really well. Pumpkin seed oil improves skin elasticity and firmness. The two essential oils at the top of the ingredient list are lavender essential oil and tea tree essential oil. Lavender helps to calm the skin while tea tree has anti-microbial properties and helps to kill acne-causing bacteria. Another noteworthy ingredient for me was neem oil, which always works really well on my acne.
The serum is a beautiful golden oil with a light-weight texture and a mild herbal scent. It sinks into the skin really quickly and does not feel heavy on the face. The brand recommends massaging 3-4 drops of the product on the face, but do keep reading to find out how I use it.

How I Use This Serum
The Waasana Clarifying Serum is meant to be used on the whole face and is tailored for those with oily, acne-prone skin. However, I love to use it as a spot treatment because it contains a wide range of essential oils which can be quite potent. Usually tea tree oil works better for me as a spot treatment than all over the face, even when diluted. This is why I take just one drop of the product and apply it to the areas where I have active acne.
That being said, I feel that the concentration of essential oils in this serum is not overwhelmingly high, because the scent is not overpowering and it does not irritate my skin at all. Also, grapeseed oil makes the concoction quite light weight and I don’t get the icky feeling of an oil sitting on my skin. But now that I have been using it as a spot treatment only, I will continue with the same and won’t experiment with putting this all over the face.
My Verdict On The Waasana Clarifying Serum
The Waasana Clarifying Serum has been working wonderfully well for me as a spot treatment. I usually get pustular acne on my face from time to time and this serum helps to bring the white gunk to the tip of the acne faster. This in turn helps the acne to heal faster and reduces the duration for which it is painful and red. To sum it up in a sentence, I love this serum as a spot treatment for my acne and I see myself reaching for it every time I have a hormonal breakout! Also, the price point of INR 550 per bottle (which will last you for months) makes this product a great choice.
I will recommend it to those suffering from acne provided you aren’t sensitive to any of the essential oils present in the formula. Also, highly recommend patch testing the product before use. It has worked very well for me so I will be stocking up on this one for sure!
