I have suffered from acne ever since puberty paid a visit. This means that I know a thing or two about the products that work and do not work for acne-prone skin. However, there is one class of products that I had never tried and when I finally did recently, I kicked myself for not using them earlier. I am talking about pimple patches! I recently received the Spot Patch Pimple Patches in my mail and they have changed my skincare game completely! Read on to find out why.
What are pimple patches?
Pimple patches are essentially hydrocolloid patches that help to dry up and heal surface acne. These patches gently suck out the white fluid (pus, sebum and oil) from pustular acne, allowing it to heal faster. Additionally, they prevent the infection from spreading to the surrounding skin by covering the pimple completely. When you are wearing a pimple patch, you can’t touch or squeeze the pimple, which reduces the chance of infection and scarring. Hence pimple patches work in multiple ways to heal pimples without leaving behind a scar.

How to use pimple patches?
Using pimple patches is extremely simple because the inner surface of the patches adheres to the skin with ease. Whenever you see a pustule turning white, simply apply the patch on top of the pimple and leave it on overnight. You need to apply the patch on clean, dry skin for best results. Also, with the Spot Patch Pimple Patches, you get a slim variant that can easily be worn under makeup during daytime too. Also, these pimple patches come in different sizes so you can use the larger ones for larger pimples and the smaller ones for the tiny pustules. Apart from the Spot Patch Pimple Patches, the brand also provides sterilized hydrocolloid sheets which you can cut and customize for pimples that occur around the crevices of the nose or chin.
When you want to remove the patch, simply peel it off gently. Removal is pretty painless and will not hurt your skin.
Are The Spot Patch Pimple Patches Safe To Use?
The Spot Patch Pimple Patches are made using sterilized hydrocolloid and are completely safe to use on the skin. Some of you might know that I have worked in the medtech industry in the past. During those years, I had worked in a neonatal unit where the only adhesive used on a newborn baby’s skin was hydrocolloid, to help stick the pipes or tubes in place. If the material is safe to be used on a newborn’s skin then I certainly feel completely confident putting it on my face.

My experience with the Spot Patch Pimple Patches
I have been testing out the Spot Patch Pimple Patches on pustules large and small over the past few days. Luckily, they came just in time to address my monthly hormonal breakout! The best time to apply these patches is when you start seeing the white fluid building up at the tip of the pimple. I apply the pimple patch over the pimple at this point and within 6 to 8 hours, it draws out all the fluid from the pimple and flattens it completely. Then I gently peel off the patch and am greeted by completely flat skin! We all tend to touch, squeeze or pick our painful pimples, which leads to scarring, but with the help of Spot Patch Pimple Patches, I am able to heal my pimples with zero scarring. Basically, I am left with no evidence that a pimple ever existed at the spot.
The slim variant that I received also contains Centella, and it does seem to soothe any inflammation I have due to the pimple. Not only do these patches help to heal the pimple overnight, they also reduce the pain (perhaps because I do not end up touching the pimples at all).

Overall, I am very impressed with the Spot Patch Pimple Patches and will highly recommend them to all of you with acne-prone skin. You should always have a pack lying around for the pimples that pop up right before a special occasion. They are readily available on Amazon and are quite affordable too! So don’t think twice about it, grab at least a box or two 🙂
