Face wash is the skincare product I experiment the most with because I empty face washes really quickly. I recently spotted the brand Dermafique on Amazon Pantry, and was quite intrigued by their minimal packaging and interesting product names. After a bit of digging, I found out that it was a new skincare line launched by ITC. Since I am drawn towards gentle cleansers the most, I decided to pick up the Dermafique Perfect pH Facial Cleanser, which is meant to be suitable for normal to sensitive skin. Read on to find out my thoughts on this face wash.

The Packaging
I quite like the minimalistic packaging of all the products from Dermafique, and their Perfect pH range has a white theme. The Dermafique Perfect pH Face Wash comes in a white squeezy tube and has the number 01 written on it as it is the first step of the regimen. The packaging is quite sturdy and travel-friendly and gives the vibe of a dermatological skincare brand. You get 100ml of product in one tube which is priced at INR 179. The face wash is indeed quite affordable for the quantity you get.

The Formula
The primary claim of the Dermafique Perfect pH Facial Cleanser is that it cleanses the skin in a gentle manner without disrupting the skin’s natural pH. I tested the pH of the cleanser using a pH strip and found it to be between 5 and 6, which is quite similar to the skin’s natural pH. Therefore, the brand’s claim that this product will not damage the skin’s acidic mantle is indeed true. The surfactant in this face wash is Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, which is a mild and non-irritating alternative to SLS, which further makes this cleanser more suitable for sensitive skin. The formula also contains Ethyl Alcohol, which works as an astringent but some may find it drying. Other soothing ingredients in the formula are Vit E and Chamomile.
The formula of this cleanser is in the form of a gel with a slight pink tint to it. The scent somehow reminds me of a pleasant-smelling shampoo but it doesn’t bother me at all. The cleanser produces a fair amount of lather on the skin which does not strip the skin dry. In terms of mildness and hydration, this face wash is definitely not as mild as the Simple Refreshing Face Wash, which leaves my skin soft and moisturized. The Dermafique facial cleanser is slightly more drying than the Simple face wash, which in turn makes it suitable for normal skin, as is claimed by the brand. Your skin will feel clean after using this cleanser but will neither feel stretchy nor hydrated. It will, therefore, do a good job at removing slight oiliness and you can follow up with a gentle moisturizer to make the skin more supple.

My Verdict on the Dermafique Perfect pH Facial Cleanser
Overall, the Dermafique Perfect pH Facial Cleanser is a decent, affordable cleanser for normal skin that won’t dry out the skin. I may not repurchase this simply because I love the Simple Face Wash more as a mild cleanser and prefer more heavy-duty cleansers (preferably with glycolic acid) for when I am breaking out. However, if you are in the market for a non-drying, affordable face wash then you can definitely give the Dermafique Perfect pH Facial Cleanser a go. I am certainly going to look into more products from the brand in the future and will keep you guys updated on how they fare for me!
