Turmeric is not a new ingredient for Indian households, be it in terms of food or skincare recipes. However, gone are the days when people grew their own turmeric in the backyard or sourced it from the farm next door. This is why you should reserve the turmeric in your kitchen cabinet for your dal tadka, and avoid using it on your face. The reason is simple, that turmeric is food grade and may have additives that are not suitable for topical application. If you still want to reap the benefits of turmeric for your skin then use the Shesha Naturals Kasturi Manjal instead. The brand was kind enough to send me this product some time back, and here is my detailed review for all of you.

The Ingredients
The Shesha Naturals Kasturi Manjal is a powder based face pack consisting of organic turmeric, orange, lemon extracts and Tulsi. This blend has powerful anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and skin brightening properties. It heals acne and removes tan with regular use. The brand also claims that it can help to reduce blemishes when used as a spot treatment.
How To Use The Shesha Naturals Kasturi Manjal
To use the Shesha Naturals Kasturi Manjal, simply mix the powder with plain water to form a paste and apply it all over the face and neck. Leave it on the face for 5-10 minutes and then rinse off. I will personally not recommend leaving it on the skin for more than 5 minutes because it will stain your skin yellow. In case your skin does get stained, you can use a gentle cleanser right after washing off the mask to get rid of the stain with ease. The brand also suggests mixing the powder with coconut oil to use as a spot treatment for blemish removal, but I haven’t tried using it in this form.
Please do a patch test before using this product on your face as a number of people can be allergic to the natural ingredients present in this mask.

My Experience With The Shesha Naturals Kasturi Manjal
I like to use the Shesha Naturals Kasturi Manjal as a face pack whenever I have inflamed acne on my face, which I have been suffering from quite frequently due to the heat. This face pack soothes any inflammation and helps to shrink my acne too. It also brightens the skin and reduces tanning to some extent. I personally like to use it for its anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, so I leave it on my face for 5 minutes only. I prefer the combination of the Shesha Naturals Tejaswi Face Wash Powder and Kumkumadi Suvarna Ubtan for brightening, and the Kasturi Manjal for acne relief.
If you have painful pimples on your face then this beautiful face pack will definitely help. Plus the soothing, earthy scent of crushed petals will offer you a spa-like experience. This is also an excellent product for the haldi ceremonies of brides to be. Now that we are skeptical about the safety and hygiene of spas, you can bring the spa home with this wonderful concoction full of skincare goodness!
This definitely looks extremely promising brand to try. Thank you 😊
