While powder-based face masks and face washes require a bit of an effort to use, I have realized over time that they actually last longer and are so much more customizable. You can mix them with rose water, milk or curd as per your skin’s requirements and can therefore customize the same product for different members of the family too! Ever since I have started using the Shesha Naturals Tejaswini Face Wash Powder and the Shesha Naturals Kumkumadi Suvarna Ubtan, my love for face mask powders has multiplied further. Read on to find out how I use these products and what I love about them.

Shesha Naturals Tejaswini Face Wash Powder | Review
The Shesha Naturals Tejaswini Face Wash Powder is a powder made from almond, green gram and bengal gram, with a bunch of other skin-loving natural ingredients. It smells like vetiver grass to me and has a calming effect on my mind whenever I sniff it. Using this face wash powder is very simple – all you need to do it take some of the powder in your palm, mix in a bit of plain water to form a paste and massage the paste on your skin for 15-20 seconds before rinsing the product off.
Ingredients - Almond, Green Gram, Bengal Gram, Organic Rose Petals, Aloe Vera, Orange Peel, Avarampoo, Hibiscus
My Experience with the Shesha Naturals Tejaswini Face Wash Powder
The paste of this powder exfoliates the skin very gently and helps to reduce white heads with regular use. Since it is an SLS-free, non-foaming face wash, it does not strip the skin dry but manages to get rid of any excess oil on the face. I love to use this face wash powder in the middle of the day when my face becomes sweaty and oily due to cooking. It cleanses my skin gently yet effectively and gives it an overall glow. I have also noticed a slight reduction in my acne and blemishes ever since I have started using this product. Priced at INR 399 for a 50gm jar, this product is truly a gem.

Shesha Naturals Kumkumadi Suvarna Ubtan | Review
A lot of us must have experienced Ubtan Sundays while growing up, where are mothers used to scrub our whole bodies with a paste made from besan, sandalwood etc to get rid of the tan and dead skin. The Shesha Naturals Kumkumadi Suvarna Ubtan gives the humble homemade ubtan an upgrade with a ton of amazing ingredients such as saffron, hibiscus, amla, aloe vera, and lotus petals.
Ingredients - Crocus Sativus (Pure Saffron from Himalayan ranges), Hibiscus Rosa-Sinesis (Organic Hibiscus Flowers), Nelumbo Nucifera (Organic Lotus Petals), Red Tree Barks, Organic Rose Petals, Dried Aloe Vera, Almond, Nutmeg, Avarampoo, Tulsi Leaves, Green Gram, Bengal Gram, White Turmeric, Amla, Neem Leaves, Nut Grass
You can use this hibiscus-scented ubtan as a powder cleanser or as a mask, and can mix it with rose water, milk, or curd to create the latter. When mixed with rose water, it forms a thick paste that is more like a “Lep” than a mask, which is why I like to mix in a bit of the Tejaswi Face Wash Powder as well, to make the mask more spreadable. I think if you prefer a more pasty consistency then mixing the powder with curd will be a good idea, provided that curd suits your skin.
My Experience with the Shesha Naturals Kumkumadi Suvarna Ubtan
The mask made out of this Ubtan, the Tejaswi Face Powder and rose water works like magic on my combination, acne-prone skin. It shrinks acne and reduces any redness on the face, but what I love the most about this mask is that it gives an insane glow to the skin, more than I have ever experienced with a face mask. Not only does this mask calm down the skin, it removes tan and evens out the skin tone from the very first use. Priced at INR 599, you couldn’t ask for a more affordable product to give you the lit from within look.
Just like all the other products that I have tried in the past from Shesha Naturals, these two managed to impress me immensely as well and I cannot recommend them enough to those of you who are struggling with dullness, acne, or oily skin! Do let me know how they work for you in case you end up trying them 🙂
