Dry skin with acne is a tricky situation to deal with, but pure hemp seed oil has been touted as a solution for the same. I recently got to try the Juicy Chemistry Hemp Seed Oil which is a 100% organic cold-pressed oil that was kindly sent to me by the brand, and here is my review of the product.
The Packaging
The Juicy Chemistry Hemp Oil comes in a dark glass bottle with a dropper and an outer cardboard box. The packaging is made out of recyclable material and the label design beautifully depicts the key ingredients, as is the case with most Juicy Chemistry products. You get 30ml of product for INR 600, which is fairly affordable for a 100% organic, cold-pressed carrier oil.
The Formula
The Juicy Chemistry Hemp Oil contains only 100% organic hemp seed oil and nothing else. This oil has a dark greenish tint and a herbal scent, and is neither too thick nor too runny. It sinks into the skin quite easily and does not feel very sticky or greasy on the skin. It feels quite moisturising on the skin as soon as you apply it and the skin continues to feel hydrated for several hours afterwards. This formula is suitable for the face, body, as well as the scalp and hair.
My Experience with the Juicy Chemistry Hemp Seed Oil
I personally find the Juicy Chemistry Hemp Oil a little heavy for my oily to combination facial skin, which is completely expected since the brand recommends this product for dry skinned people anyway. It does work quite well on the dry eczema-like patches that I tend to develop on my neck from time to time. I also enjoy using it as a body oil that I apply 30 minutes before a bath as it leaves my skin soft and hydrated but not sticky.
Overall, the Juicy Chemistry Hemp Oil works as well as any pure Hemp seed oil should. The reason why you should pick this one over any other Hemp seed oil is that Juicy Chemistry is a certified organic brand, and you can trust their ingredient list without any fear of any unknown fillers that some brands tend to add to their oils. If you are in the market for a hydrating oil for dry, irritated skin, I will recommend giving the Juicy Chemistry Hemp Oil a shot.
