Juicy Chemistry Frankincense and Hemp Facial Oil | Review

A lot of you might already know that I am a huge fan of facial oils and consider them to my biggest skincare discovery to date. Contrary to what some may think, you can use a facial oil even if you have oily and acne-prone skin, you just have to find the right one for your skin type. I was recently approached by Juicy Chemistry to try out some of their products, and they recommended the Juicy Chemistry Frankincense and Hemp Facial Oil for my oily, acne-prone and blemished skin. Here is my review of the product after testing it out for a month or so.

The Packaging

The Juicy Chemistry Facial Oils come in a black glass bottle with a dropper. The bottle is quite tiny and travel-friendly and contains 10ml of product. It may seem a little small but will definitely last you for months considering that you need only 2-3 drops of this product every day. The outer box has a beautiful floral pattern on it which I quite like. I have always been a fan of the sustainable packaging from the brand, and this product is no exception.

The Formula

The Juicy Chemistry Frankincense and Hemp Facial Oil is a non-sticky, light-weight oil with a greenish-golden tint and a mild herbal (natural) fragrance. The formula consists of a bunch of Eco-certified organic oils such as hemp seed oil, neem oil, lavender oil, turmeric oil, frankincense oil, and tea tree oil, to name a few. The brand provides a complete list of ingredients on the box which is commendable, and you can check the list in the image above to make sure that your skin is not sensitive to any of the oils. I will recommend a patch test before using the product as the formula is quite potent and can potentially irritate sensitive skin.

The ingredients have been selected to shrink acne, encourage skin renewal and prevent skin infections and inflammation. The formula also helps with preventing excess sebum generation, which is a concern for those with oily skin. The product does not feel heavy or greasy on the face and gets absorbed quickly once you pat it into the skin.

My experience with the Juicy Chemistry Frankincense and Hemp Facial Oil

I have been using the Juicy Chemistry Frankincense and Hemp Facial Oil in my PM routine in combination with the Juicy Chemistry Tea Tree and Basil Water and any rich night cream for over a month now. I had some painful cystic acne on my face when I first started using the product, and they shrank way faster than usual thanks to this facial oil. This product is perfect for those with angry skin and frequent acne breakouts as it helps to soothe the skin and heals the acne faster. I have also noticed a reduction in the oiliness of my face and the frequency of breakouts ever since I have started using this oil.

One thing that you must keep in mind is that the oil does cause some peeling/flaking of the skin around the acne and you may experience dryness and flaking all over your face as well if you have normal to dry skin to begin with. To prevent this from happening, I pair this oil with a rich night cream, and if you have dry and acne-prone skin then you can use the oil just as a spot treatment for your acne and use a rich moisturiser on the rest of your face.

My Verdict on the Juicy Chemistry Frankincense and Hemp Facial Oil

I feel that the Juicy Chemistry Frankincense and Hemp Facial Oil is a blessing for those with oily and acne-prone skin. It is very effective as a spot treatment and also helps prevent excess sebum production when used all over the face, thereby preventing further breakouts. I will highly recommend all of you suffering from these issues to try out this facial oil in your nighttime skincare routine. I am sure you will notice a difference within a few weeks of using the product!
