When it comes to hair masks, give me something that smoothens my hair like I have been to a salon and give me tons of it. This is why I was attracted to the Coccoon Nourishing Hair Mask because it comes in an enormous tub and contains some interesting ingredients such as Olive Oil, Green Tea and Apple. Also, it did not seem too expensive for all the benefits that it claimed to offer. Here is my review of this hair mask after using it for a couple of weeks on my frizzy, fine hair.
The Packaging
The Coccoon Nourishing Hair Mask comes in a hug 350gm tub with a screw on lid. It is not the most travel-friendly packaging, but since it is so creamy, I cannot imagine any other packaging that would work with this formula. The outer packaging is quite minimalistic and looks fairly high-end, and all the ingredients are listed on the tub. Overall, I do quite like the packaging and have nothing bad to say about it.
The Formula
The Coccoon Nourishing Hair Mask has a smooth, creamy consistency and spreads easily on the hair, with a little going a long way. The ingredient list is free of sulphates but it does contain silicones, which I personally do not mind. The key ingredients, Olive Oil and Apple, appear towards the middle of the ingredient list, but green tea is one of the last ingredients. The product also contains a bunch of fatty alcohols towards the top of the ingredient list, which will add moisture to the hair. I was particularly intrigued by the presence of apple extracts in the formula, and the brand claims that apples help with adding shine to the hair while reducing breakage and increasing softness.
My Experience with the Coccoon Nourishing Hair Mask
The Coccoon Nourishing Hair Mask can be used both as a conditioner when left on the hair for 2-5 minutes or as a hair spa when left on the hair for 20-30 minutes. The brand claims that it shall improve scalp health, soften the hair, add shine and smoothness to the hair and give them a salon-like finish. I personally find it too rich for my oily scalp so I only use it on my mid-lengths and ends and leave it on for around 5 minutes.
This mask does a great job of detangling and softening the hair, although I do not see a significant shine in my hair after using the product. I do like how smooth and soft the mask makes my hair and I love that it leaves my tresses frizz-free for at least 3 days, which is amazing for my fine hair. I am sure that when left longer on the hair, it will definitely make the hair even sleeker, and would work wonders for even thicker hair.
My Verdict On The Coccoon Nourishing Hair Mask
If you are someone who needs a hair mask that can soften and detangle the hair within a few minutes then the Coccoon Nourishing Hair Mask will work really well for you. At the price of INR 599 for 350gm of product, you can’t really go wrong with this mask unless you do not like silicones in your hair care products. I personally quite enjoy using it and it gives me good results even when I am in a rush.
Let me know if you have tried anything from the brand Coccoon and how it worked for you!
