Come summer and face mists become everybody’s best friend, thanks to how they provide the skin some respite from the sweltering heat. And if a face mist can provide additional skincare benefits, such as soothing redness and healing acne then nothing could be better right? Today I will be talking about one such facial mist that acts as a toner and is a boon for oily and acne-prone skin. It is the Juicy Chemistry Toner with Australian Tea Tree and Basil Water. Read on to find out why I have fallen head over heels in love with this product.
The Packaging
This Juicy Chemistry Toner comes in a gorgeous blue glass bottle that is reusable and looks so luxurious that anyone would be tempted to fill it up with rose water or any other face mist once they use up the original product. The outer cardboard box is made out of recyclable cardboard and has a beautiful botanical illustration on it. Whenever you order Juicy Chemistry products, they came packaged without any bubble wrap or plastic wrapping, which just shows that the brand sticks to their ethos of being eco-friendly in every aspect of their product cycle. Not only is the packaging completely sustainable, it is also pleasing to look at and feels very high end, and the spray dispenses an even and fine mist of the toner.
The Ingredients
The Juicy Chemistry Tea Tree and Basil Water Toner is a combination of distillates of various skin-loving ingredients such as tea tree, rosemary, lavender, aloe, basil and neem. Most of the ingredients contain anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties which help to curb acne and soothe irritated skin. While tea tree oil is an excellent ingredient for shrinking and healing acne, it tends to irritate my skin when its concentration is slightly high in a product, so this tea tree distillate which is super gentle is the perfect way for me to reap the benefits of the ingredient. It is also worth noting that all the ingredients of this product come from organic farming, and you can trust Juicy Chemistry when it says so because it is a certified organic brand.
The Efficacy of the Juicy Chemistry Toner
The Juicy Chemistry Toner with Tea Tree and Basil Water claims to prevent acne, reduce inflammation, tighten pores and hydrate the skin while balancing its pH. I feel that the product lives up to all of its claims except that it is not as hydrating as some of the other facial mists I have tried. This however, is completely fine with me since I am more interested in its astringent properties that help to heal acne than its hydrating properties, as I always layer this product with a moisturiser or oil anyway.
This Juicy Chemistry Toner feels incredibly gentle on the skin and has a cooling effect as well. It does not irritate the skin at all and has a very mild natural scent. I do feel my pores tighten every time I use this toner after cleansing my face, and it instantly calms down any inflammation on my skin due to acne. I have been using this product in my AM and PM routine for almost a month now and I can claim with certainty that it has helped in expedited healing of the cystic acne I had on my face when I started using this product and has reduced my breakouts as well (in combination with the Juicy Chemistry Frankincense and Hemp Seed Oil which I shall be reviewing soon).
My Final Verdict on the Juicy Chemistry Toner with Tea Tree and Basil Water
If you have come this far, you already know that I will highly recommend this product to those with acne-prone and inflamed skin. I love how it is packed with cooling, soothing and healing properties and I feel that this distillate-based formula could be a great alternative for those whose skin is sensitive to essential oils. The price of INR 850 for a 110ml bottle is completely justified for the quality of the ingredients and the lovely packaging in my opinion, but if you think that it is too much then you can make use of one of the many sales that the brand keeps hosting from time to time. What are you still doing on this page anyway? Go and buy this product now!
