I recently finished up my Ordinary Caffeine Eye Serum, which had really helped to lighten my dark circles, and for some weeks, I skipped applying an eye cream or serum. Needless to say, my dark circles returned and my under eye area began to feel dry. Urgent measures need to be taken, and I immediately picked up the Juicy Chemistry Eye Serum with Organic Prickly Pear, Chia and Tamanu. I have been using this eye serum twice a day religiously for more than a month now, and here are my thoughts about the product.
The Juicy Chemistry Eye Serum comes in a 10gm tinted glass bottle with a plastic roll-on applicator. I like that the bottle is tiny and travel-friendly, and the roll-on applicator helps to massage the under eye as well, which I appreciate. I personally prefer a metallic roll-on applicator because it also offers a cooling sensation to the skin, but perhaps the brand has a reason for not using a metallic applicator with this formula. I love the outer cardboard packaging of Juicy Chemistry products because they have cute watercolour drawings of the ingredients on them, hence I have saved the outer box of the product as well.
The Juicy Chemistry Eye Serum has an oil-based formula and contains a bunch of nourishing seed oils. I was particularly attracted to the presence of Camelia seed oil and Tamanu oil in the formula, because these work really well at soothing my skin and reducing pigmentation. The oil is fairly light-weight and does not feel heavy or greasy on the skin, but it does add some slip and shine to the under-eye area. So if you are using it during the day under makeup, you may have to opt for a matte concealer or set your concealer with a powder to prevent it from moving around.
My Experience with the Juicy Chemistry Eye Serum
I find the Juicy Chemistry Eye Serum very nourishing and noticed that it reduced the dryness in my under eye area from the very first use. After a couple of weeks of using this product, I noticed that my dark circles had lightened slightly as well. Now, after using the product for several weeks, I can say that my dark circles are barely there. Please do not expect any miracles from an eye cream or serum when it comes to lightening dark circles, but when used regularly, in combination with a healthy diet and enough sleep, this serum will reduce your dark circles after a month of use. The price point of INR 650 for 50ml of product is also decent for the quality and efficacy of this eye serum. I will recommend this product to those of you who wouldn’t mind applying a light-weight oil underneath your eyes.
