Winter in India is usually quite cruel on the skin and leaves it dry and flakey. Even though I have oily skin during the warmer months, it leans towards combination to dry during the peak of winter and becomes quite dull too. This is why I was thrilled to receive a package from Suganda Skincare which contained 3 products that will take extra care of a range of skin types during the harsh and cold weather. This kit contains the Suganda Centella Green Tea Face Wash, the Suganda Niacinamide Serum and the Suganda Rosehip Moisturizer and here are my thoughts on these products!
Suganda Centella and Green Tea Face Wash
The Suganda Centella and Green Tea Face Wash is a gentle and non-drying face wash that contains powerful antioxidants (Centella and Green Tea) as its key ingredients along with glycerin and panthenol for hydration. This face wash has a herbal green tea scent that is not too owerpowering and has a fairly runny consistency. It generates a moderate amount of lather which feels extremely gentle on the skin and does not strip it dry, thereby making it suitable for those with sensitive skin. This face wash is mildly hydrating and soothes angry skin. It should be suitable for all skin types during winter except perhaps very dry skin, and I will recommend it to those with sensitive and acne prone skin.
Suganda Niacinamide Serum Review
The Suganda Niacinamide Serum is a water based serum that contains 10% Niacinamide, which is an ingredient that is known to reduce acne and pigmentation and to restore the oil balance of the skin among other benefits. The serum also contains green tea and centella extracts to soothe the skin as well as hyaluronic acid to hydrate it. It is therefore a product that helps both dry and oily skin during winters. Bear in mind that some people who are new to niacinamide may experience some sensitivity to the product for the first few weeks, so start with a couple of drops underneath your moisturiser every alternate day and slowly increase the frequency of use to daily.
It is a very light-weight yet potent serum that gets absorbed into the skin very easily. I recommend using it under a light or heavy moisturiser as per your skin type to ensure that your skin receives optimal hydration. (Note – I do not recommend layering niacinamide with other active ingredients such as Vitamin C, please consult the brand if you are not sure about which products you can layer with this serum.)
Suganda Skincare Rosehip Moisturiser Review
Last but definitely not the least, the Suganda Rosehip Moisturiser has to be my favourite product from the trio. This moisturiser seems to me like a richer version of the Suganda White Lotus Moisturiser that I love during the summer, however it is still not greasy or heavy on the skin. Rosehip oil works really well at hydrating the skin without making it shiny or feeling heavy and this ingredient is combined with Glycerin, Hyaluronic Acid and 3% Niacinamide to nourish the skin and brighten it respectively. If you are someone who is new to Niacinamide and have dry to combination skin then I will recommend using this moisturiser in your PM routine to wake up to glowy and hydrated skin. Very dry skinned people may need to layer it with a richer cream or face oil.
My Final Verdict on this Suganda Skincare Trio
Overall, I feel that these products are excellent for those with moderately dry to moderately oily skin and you can even start with just the face wash and the rosehip moisturiser and then add the niacinamide serum to your regimen as per the state of your skin. If you are someone who is not a fan of heavy moisturisers and serums and is looking for light-weight yet effective skincare for the winter months then this trio of products from Suganda should do the trick for you.
