They say that any skincare regimen takes at least a couple of weeks to show its benefits, and in the case of most skincare products, this statement is valid. However, there are a few products in the market that do actually provide instant visible results, and the Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Full Strength Exfoliating Mask is one of them. The name of this product may be a mouthful, but the results speak for themselves. Here is my review of this amazing chemical exfoliator.
The full size tub containing 60ml of this product retails for a whopping $48, but I was lucky enough to win a sample size in a giveaway, which gave me 4 uses. The Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel is essentially an AHA and BHA based exfoliator which removes dead skin, black heads, and white heads from the face, right from the first use. It contains organic lemon juice, organic apple juice, organic aloe juice, as well glycolic acid, lactic acid, sodium hydroxide, Vitamin C, Vitamin A and Vitamin E. I’m not entirely sure of the concentration of these ingredients in the formula, but it does contain a lot of actives, so I would recommend this to those of you whose skin is used to active ingredients. A patch test of this product is definitely recommended for all, especially for those with sensitive skin.
The formula comes in the form of a translucent brownish gel which does smell like green apples. You are supposed to apply a generous layer of the product all over the face and neck and leave it on for 10 minutes. Because of the active ingredients in the formula, you will experience some amount of tingling, which is completely normal. After 10 minutes, simply wash the product off your face and apply a hydrating serum and moisturizer. The brand recommends using this product 1-2 times a week. You must also use a sunscreen during the day after you use this product at night.
My personal experience with this product has been nothing short of amazing. It left my skin baby smooth and even melted off most of the pesky oil heads I have on my nose and chin after just one use. Since my skin is used to active ingredients, it caused only a mild tingling sensation on my skin but nothing too intense. I am honestly super impressed with the efficacy of this product and have no con to state other than the price and the limited availability of this product in India. The product is also vegan and cruelty-free!
Overall, if you are willing to invest in your skincare then this product is definitely worth the buy. If however, you feel that it is too expensive, then I will recommend picking up the Ordinary AHA+BHA Peel or the Dr. Sheth’s Chemical Peel instead, which have a similar effect on the skin as this product at a fraction of the cost, but I do feel that the Juice Beauty peel is gentler on the skin than these products.
