Deconstruct is an Indian skincare brand that believes in well-researched formulations with science-backed ingredients. Instead of encouraging consumers to purchase every trending active in the market, they believe in educating their customers about what would work for their skin type. True to this philosophy, they have targeted multi-ingredient formulations for various skin types and concerns, eliminating the hassle of figuring out how to layer different actives. The brand has an array of serums in their kitty, with ample information about each one on their website. I have tried four of the Deconstruct serums so far, and will be sharing my experiences about them with all of you. These are the Deconstruct Retinol & Peptide Serum, Deconstruct Beginner’s Exfoliating Serum, Deconstruct Hydrating Serum and Deconstruct Exfoliating Serum.
Do keep on reading to know what I think of each of these serums.

Deconstruct Retinol & Peptide Serum – Review
The Deconstruct Retinol & Peptide Serum is one of the newer launches by the brand. It contains 0.2% Retinol and 1% Peptides in a water-based formula that also contains Hyaluronic Acid. This is an anti-aging formulation that claims to boost collagen production, reduce wrinkles, and make the skin firm and youthful. It is a light-weight, non-sticky serum with an opaque milky texture and golden hue. This is my first retinol serum in a water-based formula and I love this because it literally sinks into the skin without any greasy or sticky residue. It feels mildly hydrating and plumping too.
This serum did not purge or irritate my skin at all. I use it on alternate nights with a moisturizer on top and the combination works really well for my skin. After a few weeks of use, I can notice that my skin tone has evened out, pigmentation has faded slightly and my skin feels plumper and firmer than before. There is an added glow on my face as well!
My Verdict On The Deconstruct Retinol & Peptide Serum
Overall, the Deconstruct Retinol & Peptide Serum is an excellent gentle Retinol serum for beginners in India who are looking for anti-aging benefits. Plus, it is an affordable Retinol serum that costs INR 799 for 30ml and is often available at a discounted price. Not only is this retinol serum great for beginners, but is also an amazing maintenance product for those without severe skin issues, who don’t need a higher concentration of Retinol. The presence of peptides and hydrating ingredients make it even more effective and I give it 5 stars!

All the Deconstruct serums featured in this review are fragrance-free and silicone-free!

Deconstruct Hydrating Serum – Review
Who doesn’t love a soothing and hydrating serum? I know I do! And the Deconstruct Hydrating Serum ticks all the right boxes for me. This serum claims to hydrate and soothe the skin while improving skin texture. It contains 2% Hyaluronic Acid with three molecular weights of the ingredient to work at different depths on the skin. It also contains 1% Niacinamide, a suitable concentration for those with sensitive skin as Niacinamide in higher concentrations can sometimes cause irritation.
The consistency is slightly viscous and gel-like but it spreads on the skin easily and gets absorbed quickly without feeling sticky like some other HA serums I have tried. My oily skin loves the hydration this serum provides, and only needs a light moisturizer on top. It instantly calms and hydrates my skin and makes it soft and plump.
Those with dry skin may obviously need to layer it with richer creams.
My Verdict On The Deconstruct Hydrating Serum
I really love the Deconstruct Hydrating Serum because it is a no-nonsense, non-sticky hydrating product that instantly soothes and softens my skin. Also love the fact that it fragrance-free, just like every other product from the brand. Plus it is decently affordable at INR 699 for 30ml, but a much better deal during sale season. I give it 4 stars out of 5 ( taking away one star just because you might be able to find slightly cheaper hydrating products in the market.)

Deconstruct Beginner’s Exfoliating Serum – Review
As the name suggests, the Deconstruct Beginner’s Exfoliating Serum is a mild exfoliating serum that is suitable for beginners. It contains 5% AHA in the form of Lactic Acid, along with hydrating Hyaluronic Acid and 1.5% Probiotics to strengthen the skin barrier. This combination of ingredients ensures that the serum exfoliates the skin without irritating it or compromising the barrier. Consistency-wise, it is a clear serum, slightly more viscous than water, that sinks into the skin quickly without feeling sticky or greasy.
Using the Deconstruct Beginner’s Exfoliating Serum 3 nights a week before moisturizer can help you achieve glowing skin. This product reduces dullness through mild exfoliation and evens out the skin tone. It also smoothens the skin texture a bit. Hence, it is a great product for those dealing with dullness and slight congestion.
My Verdict On The Deconstruct Beginner’s Exfoliating Serum
The Deconstruct Beginner’s Exfoliating Serum is an excellent mild exfoliant that lives up to its claims. Plus the price of INR 699 for 30ml is pretty good! I give it 4 stars out of 5 (simply because I like their other exfoliating serum more for my skin type, for beginners this is 5/5)

Deconstruct Exfoliating Serum – Review
The Deconstruct Exfoliating Serum with 18% AHA and 2% BHA is one of my favourites from the brand along with their Retinol Serum. The name is a little confusing because this is actually a wash-off chemical peel that you are only supposed to leave on your face for 5-10 minutes. So, you should use it as a peel on clean skin, wash it off after 10 minutes and then proceed with your hydrating serums, moisturizer etc. It contains Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Tartaric Acid, Malic Acid and BHA/Salicylic Acid. The AHAs work on the upper layers of the skin to remove dullness and texture. Meanwhile, Salicylic Acid deeply exfoliates the skin and decongests the pores.
Despite being such a concentrated exfoliant, this serum does not tingle or burn on my skin like other peels tend to. Within 10 minutes it totally decongests my skin, giving it a glow and a smooth appearance by unclogging the pores. I always use a soothing toner and moisturizer after this and slather on extra sunscreen the next morning.
This is truly the mildest yet effective chemical peel I have tried. Still, bear in mind that this is a potent formula that may not be suitable for beginners or those with sensitive skin. Always use milder exfoliants before graduating to this one!
My Verdict On The Deconstruct Beginner’s Exfoliating Serum
The Deconstruct Exfoliating Serum has truly impressed me. It gives me super smooth and radiant skin within 10 minutes without tingling at all. Plus the price of INR 799 for 30ml is pretty good! If you are looking for a dupe to the Ordinary Chemical Peel then look no further. I actually prefer the Deconstruct peel because the Ordinary one gives me a burning sensation. I give the Deconstruct serum 5 stars out of 5!
