The Formula
The Spekta True Matte Lipsticks have a long-lasting matte formula enriched with Vitamin E and Shea Butter. It offers a true matte finish and is fairly transfer resistant and light-weight. Since the formula is quite matte, I like to warm the bullets on the back of my hand for a smooth application on the lips. I also prep my lips with a lip balm which I blot off just before applying these lipsticks to make the matte formula even more comfortable. If you have a lot of dryness or texture on your lips then I will recommend scrubbing and moisturizing your lips before applying Spekta True Matte Lipsticks.
These lipsticks provide one stroke pigmentation that lasts for up to 6 hours on the lips depending on how much I eat or drink. They do not transfer a lot but oily food does break them down for obvious reasons.
Last but not the least, all the lipsticks from the brand are vegan and cruelty-free, which is always a plus!
The Shades
The Spekta True Matte lipsticks come in a variety of shades that are extremely flattering on Indian skin tones. The recent addition to my collection is the shade 102 – Saucy, which the brand describes as a true red. This shade is indeed a true red that will look extremely flattering on all Indian skin tones. It is the perfect red for me that I can pair with both Indian and Western outfits. For shade reference, please note that my skin tone is NC35.
Also, I love that this lipstick does not bleed or transfer easily, which can be a problem with many red lipsticks. Saucy is the perfect pick-me-up lip shade for the days when I need to feel more put together. It goes well with both minimal makeup as well as a full face of glam. Spekta Cosmetics Shimmer Lipstick – MVP – Review and Swatches
One of the bestselling Spekta Lipsticks, the Shimmer Lipstick in the shade MVP is back in stock! This is a sheer lipstick with gold shimmer that can be used on its own or as a topper over other lipsticks. It has a very creamy and moisturizing formula enriched with shea butter, olive butter and castor oil. It glides on the lips with ease and offer a beautiful shimmery effect.
When applied on its own, MVP imparts a sheer gloss to the lips with gold shimmers that shine when the light falls on them.
