When it comes to skincare, I firmly believe in the less is more approach. This is why the brand Zilch stood out to me. Even the name of this Indian skincare brand suggests that it believes in simple formulations with zero unnecessary additives. To my delight, they kindly sent me the Zilch Insta Bounce Super Hydration Serum to try out over a month of ago. I have now emptied the bottle and am ready with my review. Here is what I think of this hydrating serum.

The Formula and Consistency
The Zilch Insta Bounce Super Hydration Serum has a lotion consistency that sinks into the skin quickly, leaving it hydrated but not greasy. In terms of formula, this serum contains a bunch of humectants and moisturizing ingredients, with Hyaluronic Acid, Glycerine, Aloe Vera, and Panthenol being some of the star ingredients. It also contains Niacinamide, which is truly a skincare all-rounder that soothes, brightens and hydrates the skin.
The formula also contains fragrance as the last ingredient, but the scent is quite refreshing and doesn’t bother my skin. Moreover, I am happy that despite being a clean skincare brand, the formulators have added much-needed preservatives to the serum, which should ideally be included in all water-based formulations.

The Efficacy of Zilch Insta Bounce Super Hydrating Serum
If I had to describe the Zilch Insta Bounce Serum, I would say that it is richer than a water-based serum and lighter than a cream-based moisturizer. It is a hydrating lotion that provides an instant boost of moisture and softness to the skin. It also helps to calm any redness or irritation caused by acne on my skin. Those with oily skin can use this serum on its own without requiring another moisturizer. Those with dry skin may need to layer a moisturizer or oil on top.
This is an excellent formulation if you are looking for something that is soothing and hydrating. However, if you are expecting other benefits such as skin brightening or acne prevention, this serum won’t help you with those. It is a basic hydrating lotion that you can apply on your skin whenever it feels dry or dehydrated. For other skincare benefits, you can pair this product with other serums, as it has a fairly simple formulation that should pair well with actives. However, I will recommend conducting a patch test if you pair this formula with other serums because it contains Niacinamide.

The Packaging, Pricing and My Final Verdict
I quite like the minimalistic and sturdy packaging of the Zilch Insta Bounce Serum. It comes in a bottle with a pump which makes it super easy to use as well. All the information about the product is provided on the label, which is great. The price of a 30ml bottle is INR 1200, which is a little steep in my opinion. If you use this serum generously twice a day, one bottle will last you no more than 2 months. Therefore, I will recommend picking up the product on sale or from Nykaa when the site offers freebies with the serum.
My final verdict on the Zilch Insta Bounce Serum is that it is an excellent light-weight, soothing and hydrating product with a fuss-free formulation. If you are in the market for a simple moisturizing serum that is not heavy, you can definitely try this! If it fits your budget or you find it on a sale, do give it a shot.
