Do you know what is more satisfying than flawless makeup? Removing the makeup at the end of the day! If you agree with this statement then chances are that you own your fair share of micellar waters and cleansing oils/balms. A cleansing balm is the perfect makeup remover for those who wear a lot of waterproof eye makeup, liquid lipsticks and foundation on a regular basis. The oil present in the balm dissolves waterproof makeup with ease, leaving your skin squeaky clean. Today I will be sharing my review of the Sapphire Botanics Strip Cleansing Balm that I have been testing out over the past few weeks. Do keep on reading to find out everything about this product.
True to its name, Sapphire Botanics is a plant-based skincare brand that offers vegan and cruelty-free products. The Sapphire Botanics Strip Cleansing Balm is made out of a bunch of plant oils, with avocado oil being the star ingredient. It is a green coloured balm with a buttery consistency that melts easily when rubbed between the fingers. It does not really have any strong fragrance to it, which I truly appreciate.
List of Ingredients – Avocado, Olive, Argan, Jojoba, Sweet Almond, Flaxseed, Sal Butter and Lavender
How To Use The Sapphire Botanics Strip Cleansing Balm
The Sapphire Botanics Strip Cleansing Balm is supposed to be the first step of your cleansing routine. All you need to do is scoop out some of the product and massage it on your face with clean fingers. As the balm melts due to your body heat, it will turn into an oil that will start dissolving your makeup. Continue to massage the product on your face till all your makeup has melted. I love that the product does not sting my sensitive eyes, so I can massage it on my eyelids without any worries. Now you can wipe off the oil and dissolved makeup with a wet washcloth, ideally dipped in warm water. If you have the time then you can also leave the warm washcloth on your face for a minute for a deeper cleanse.
Do note that this cleansing balm does not emulsify and does not wash off easily with plain cold water. So, I will recommend following it up with a foaming face wash.
My verdict on the Sapphire Botanics Strip Cleansing Balm
The primary reason that I love the Saphhir Botanics Strip Cleansing Balm is that it is one of the only cleansing balms that does not sting my eyes at all. It feels very gentle on my skin too and manages to remove even waterproof makeup with ease. Because it contains so many nourishing plant oils, it leaves my skin supple and hydrated, which is a need in winters. Since the product doesn’t emulsify, it is a little difficult to rinse off compared to emulsifying balms, but the end results are fantastic. Using a warm wash-cloth followed by a face wash works really well for my skin and gets rid of every speck of makeup on my face. If you don’t mind spending an extra minute wiping this one off, I will highly recommend it to you, especially if you have sensitive eyes!
