H&M is a clothing store that I really enjoy visiting because they have a huge collection of basics that are trendy yet wearable. A significant chunk of my wardrobe carries their signature red and white label. No points for guessing that this was one store I was missing shopping from the most due to the lockdown. Even now, when stores are opening up, I still prefer to shop online to minimize human contact, and I urge you to do the same. This is why I placed my first order on H&M India’s website recently. In case you are curious about the shipping time, packaging, quality etc. keep on reading.

What are the best items to shop for on H&M’s website?
H&M has a vast collection of basics such as t-shirts, tank tops, and sweatshirts which I absolutely adore. The prices are quite decent for the quality and the material of most of their basics feels very gentle against the skin. They also have some really nice skirts and trousers but you have to be a little careful about the sizing of these. Their blazers are pretty great and not obscenely expensive – perfect for power dressing. I will also recommend checking out the men’s section for oversized tees and sweatshirts if they are your jam.

What is the delivery time like?
This was my first time placing an order on H&M India’s website and I was pleasantly surprised that my order was delivered the very next day (within 24 hours)! Please bear in mind that I stay in Pune, so the delivery time for your order could be different based on where you live. However, I do believe that you should expect it within 7-10 days at the latest. Also, I loved that all the products were shipped together in one package instead of multiple shipments scattered across days.
Everything came neatly packed inside a cardboard box. There was no plastic used in the packaging, and the individual items were wrapped in paper. I hate it when brands send clothes wrapped in bubble wrap (I mean, how can clothes break?) but luckily H&M is smart enough to not do this.

How to get discounts on H&M clothing?
Coming to the topic that everybody is most excited to hear about – discounts and deals! H&M is usually running a bunch of deals on their website that will help you in bagging some great items at an affordable price. The landing page usually displays any coupons that are running that day. Additionally, they have a sale section on their website where you can view all the discounted items in one go. Even if you select a particular category to view (eg. womens’ tops), you can then use a filter for the active deals such as 3 for 2 to see only the discounted items.
If you are shopping on the website for the first time, you can sign up for their newsletter to get a coupon code for 25% off on one item of your choice along with free shipping. This coupon code will be emailed to you instantly. In case you have more than one item in your cart, the discount will automatically be applied to the highest priced item. You cannot club this coupon code along with another coupon code but it is valid on sale items too.
The brand offers free shipping on items above INR 1199, which is ok considering that would be the average cost of 2 items.

Other tips on shopping from H&M’s website
In case you love an item that is currently not on sale, try to wait for a couple of months, because H&M refreshes their stock quite frequently, which means that items go on sale very quickly too. Also, if you are crazy like me and add items to your cart from different devices, do check the cart before checking out. Sometimes, the items you had added from a different device don’t show up in the cart initially but reappear at the time of check-out. Make sure that you don’t accidentally order extra items because of this glitch.
I love how the website provides a lot of filters and sorting options to find the products of your choice. The images are an accurate representation of what the product looks like and the material information is also provided for each item, so make sure to check that out. Also, be a little careful about checking the size chart because some of the clothes from H&M tend to run a little big.
Overall, my experience shopping from H&M’s website was a smooth and enjoyable one. While it cannot replicate the joy of browsing through aisles and aisles of clothing in person, I am content with it for the time being.
