I am always excited to try out new skincare from homegrown brands, especially now when local is all the rage, as it should be. The latest addition to my stash of Indian skincare are the lovely Body Butter and Sunscreen from Deyga, a brand that is all about naturally sourced ingredients and handcrafted products. Here is an overview of what these products are all about, along with my thoughts on them.

Deyga Unscented Body Butter
One of the biggest skincare discoveries that we as consumers have made in the past couple of years is that fragrance can wreak havoc with our skin. A lot of you message me for recommendations of fragrance-free products since you have discovered that your skin is allergic or sensitive to perfume. The good news is that Deyga offers an Unscented Body Butter which will be perfect for those of you with dry and sensitive skin.

The Ingredients and Texture
The Deyga Unscented Body Butter contains Organic Shea Butter, Virgin Coconut Oil, Almond Oil and Jojoba Oil. It is devoid of any fragrance or added preservatives. This body butter looks like solidified butter in the tub and is hard to the touch. The butter melts from the heat of the fingers into an oil that spreads easily on the skin. It does not feel heavy or sticky post application.
The best way to use this product is to apply it on your body right after a shower. It seals all the moisture in place and makes the skin look plump and hydrated all day long. If you have Sahara desert dry skin on your arms and legs, or if your skin feels chapped and irritated then this product will definitely help you out. The price point of INR 600 for a 100ml tub is pretty decent considering how little of the product you will need for each use.

Deyga Sunscreen with SPF 30
While I prefer a matte sunscreen for my face, I prefer a more hydrating sunscreen for the rest of my body, which is why the Deyga Sunscreen with SPF 30 works as a great body sunscreen for me. This sunscreen has a fairly oily consistency that hydrates the skin really well and leaves a glossy sheen, which is perfect for when you are at a pool or the beach (after the lockdown, till then you can enjoy the sheen at home 🙂 ).

The Ingredients and Texture
The Deyga Sunscreen with SPF 30 and PA++ is a physical sunscreen that contains Zinc Oxide, Raspberry Seed Oil and Carrot Seed Oil as its main ingredients. It also contains hydrating olive oil and soothing Shea butter, which makes the formula perfect for those with dry skin. If you are someone who prefers a physical sunscreen over a chemical sunscreen then this product is definitely worth a shot for you because it is free of Oxybenzone and Octinoxate. Another bonus is that the product does not leave a visible white cast once blended into the skin.
Just like with any other sunscreen, apply this product 20 minutes before stepping out and reapply every 2-3 hours. Not only will this sunscreen protect you from the sun, but its hydrating ingredients will nourish your skin round the clock as well. A 100ml jar of this sunscreen is priced at INR 600.

My Verdict on Deyga Skincare
Overall, I am quite impressed with both the products from Deyga and like how the ingredient list is short and free of harsh ingredients. Each product does what it claims to do without containing any unnecessary filler ingredients. Also, I like the fact that when this brand claims to be a Natural skincare brand, the natural ingredients don’t come at the end of the list but actually form a bulk of the product. If your skin is in the need of some pampering then I will highly recommend checking out their extensive skincare range 🙂
