If there is one product that everybody has only good things to say about, it has to be the Essence Lash Princess Mascara. For years, I have wanted to try this product, but it has always been out of stock on Nykaa. It recently came back in stock on Flipkart though, and I grabbed it before it was gone again. I picked up the False Lash Effect variant of this mascara, and here is what I have to say about it.
The Packaging
The Essence Lash Princess Mascara comes in an iconic packaging with the unique design on the lid. I don’t particularly love or hate the design and like that the packaging is quite sleek and handbag friendly. The applicator is quite long with medium sized bristles – pretty similar to the applicator of most lengthening mascaras. I like that you can reach your corner lashes easily with this brush and it can easily be used for the bottom lashes as well. Overall, the packaging is quite decent for the super affordable price.
The Formula
The Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara is meant to give you long and fluttery lashes, similar to wispy falsies. Just one coat adds a lot of length to the lashes and lifts them significantly too. It does add some thickness to the lashes as well but not too much. You can add more thickness by adding a second layer, but this can make the product lump up on the lashes and can make the lashes look spidery. Therefore, I will personally recommend using just one coat of this mascara, and you can also give it a second brush with a clean mascara applicator to make your lashes look more natural.
The mascara lasts on the lashes all day long and I do not experience any fall-out with this product. It is not waterproof and is therefore easy to remove at the end of the day with just water or a micellar water. What is also great is that it does not irritate my sensitive eyes during removal and sort of gathers when being removed instead of spreading out and giving me panda eyes. I like this property of the mascara because panda eyes are hard to take off while being gentle on the skin and tend to exaggerate dark circles if you do not get rid of them completely.
My Verdict on the Essence Lash Princess Mascara
Is the Essence Lash Princess Mascara the best mascara I have ever used – No. Is it one of the best affordable mascaras in the market though – definitely Yes. I quite like the lengthening effect of this mascara and the lift that it gives to the lashes and also love the fact that it does not seem to irritate my sensitive eyes. I will however try another variant from Essence the next time because I am usually more drawn to thickening mascaras than lengthening ones. If you love long and wispy lashes then I will certainly recommend you to try out the Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara. Afterall, you can’t really go wrong with the price point of INR 250!
I’m pretty sure I liked this one but not love it. Essence usually does good mascara but I haven’t had much luck with them lately
