Facials are a great way to revive the natural glow of your skin and remove dull, dead skin in one sitting. Raaga Professional has recently launched a range of facials that are infused with plant stem cells that are rich in antioxidants, help with cell regeneration and reverse the signs of aging (ref1, ref2). I was sent the Raaga Professional Anti-Acne Facial Kit to try out recently, which is a six-step facial kit that is infused with green grape and chilli plant stem cells. Here is what I think about this product.
The Ingredients
The packaging of the Raaga Professional Anti Acne Facial Kit displays only the key ingredients contained in the product but there are no details of individual ingredients of each product. I wish that the brand had provided a complete list of ingredients to help us understand the specific benefits of each step. The key ingredients mentioned include cinnamon extract, neem extract, green tea extract, liquorice extract and green grape and chilli stem cells. All of these ingredients offer different skincare benefits to acne-prone skin, ranging from anti-bacterial to soothing and brightening properties. All the products have a mild spa-like fragrance that did not irritate my skin.
The Five Steps of the Raaga Professional Anti-Acne Facial Kit
The first step of the Raaga Professional Anti-Acne Facial Kit is a cream-based cleanser that we are supposed to massage on the skin and then wipe off with a moist cotton pad. This cleanser feels quite gentle on the skin and gets rid of any grease or dirt that may be present on the skin. The next step of the facial is the exfoliator, which seems to be a walnut shell based scrub in a creamy base. The scrub particles are quite fine and do not feel abrasive on the skin, but since it seems to have walnut shell, I will recommend going in with a very gentle hand. I personally like to use such scrubs only on my nose where I have most of my whiteheads.
The next step is the toner, which feels quite cooling and soothing on the skin and I could feel my pores tighten as soon as I used it. I am not sure whether this one contains alcohol though, due to the lack of a complete ingredients list, but it did not feel drying on my skin. The fourth step is the serum which is an orange runny gel that feels quite hydrating and soothing on the skin. The fifth step is the wipe off face mask which is essentially a clay-based face mask. This mask does not cause any tingling or burning on the skin and when it starts to tug at the skin, you know it is time to wash it off. It adds a visible glow to the skin and removes dullness while leaving the skin super soft.
Last but not the least, the sixth step of the facial is a peel-off mask, which comes in the form of a white powder that needs to be mixed with water to form a paste. A thick layer of the paste needs to be applied to the skin to ensure that it peels off easily. The mask feels quite cooling on the skin when applied and dries down within 10-15 minutes to a peelable consistency. If you let it dry completely then it will tug at the skin during peeling but if you peel it off before the outer surface starts to crack then it will peel off easily without tugging at the skin. This mask further helps with removing the gunk that the clay mask pulls out from the pores and the end result is super smooth and soft glowy skin that is not oily at all but is not dry either.
My Verdict on the Raaga Professional Anti-Acne Facial Kit
Overall, I was quite impressed with how the Raaga Professional Anti-Acne Facial Kit was able to remove the excess oil from my face without stripping it dry and also how it gave me a radiant glow. The products felt quite gentle on my skin and helped to calm my acne down. Of course, one facial will not help you get rid of your acne but this one does reduce the greasiness that causes acne and the redness associated with acne. I was quite satisfied with the results of the facial and the products lived up to my expectations.
