I am a huge fan of facial oils because they are multi-tasking products with numerous benefits. Use them as the last step of your PM routine to lock in all the moisture and goodness of your serums and creams or apply a few drops under your makeup for a glowy effect. I believe that a good facial oil caters to all skin types, you just have to modify the quantity you use based on whether your skin is dry or oily. The Vasu Healthcare Kumkumadi Tailam is one such facial oil that has recently won me over. Here is my review of the product.
The Vasu Healthcare Kumkumadi Tailam contains a blend of saffron and Ayurvedic herbs such as Haridra, Yashtimadhu, Manjistha, Daruharidra, Kamal that are processed with sesame oil and milk. The end result is a golden yellow oil with a herbal scent that provides a burst of nourishment to the skin. This oil is neither too light-weight nor too heavy, it does not make the face greasy when you use 2-3 drops for the face and neck region, but it does leave the skin slippery, which is why the brand recommends using the product at night. The packaging also mentions that you can rinse off the product after 30 minutes if you have really oily skin. I personally do not mind the slight oiliness that it imparts to the face in the evening, and I also like to use it under matte foundations during the day to make my makeup look glowy and non-patchy.
The brand claims that this oil works as an age revitalizing serum that can reduce the notorious signs of aging, aka dark spots, wrinkles and laugh lines, with regular use for 2-3 months at least. The product contains skin brightening ingredients that add a beautiful glow to te skin while reducing dark spots. The oil also provides intense hydration to the skin, making it plump and supple, which in turn will help to reduce wrinkles and fine lines.
My Verdict On the Vasu Healthcare Kumkumadi Tailam
I feel that the Vasu Healthcare Kumkumadi Tailam is a great facial oil for those with very dry to moderately oily skin. It nourishes the skin from the very first use and helps to get rid of any dry patches on the skin within a week. I also love it as a primer underneath makeup because it makes my foundation glide easily on the skin and prevents it from clinging to any dryness on my face. Since it is an ayurvedic formulation, I will advise you to not expect any overnight miracles from this oil, but with regular use for a couple of months, you will definitely notice an improvement in the texture of your skin. I particularly recommend this oil for the winters, when the weather is cold and dry and your skin needs that extra dose of nourishment. With the price point of INR 550 for one bottle that will last you several months, you can’t really go wrong with this product. Try it out now and you can thank me later!
