Sugar Cosmetics has been filling the aisles with back to back releases, and I admit that it can be a bit overwhelming for us consumers to pick the products that will be best for us. Don’t worry, I will try to review as many new launches for you as possible, so that you can make smart and informed purchases without any FOMO or anxiety. Today I will be talking about one of the latest lipstick launches by the brand – the Sugar Matte Attack Transferproof Lipsticks. Read on for my review and swatches.
The Packaging
The Sugar Matte Attack Transferproof Lipsticks come in soft matte black twist-up packaging that looks quite luxe. The bullets are thin and slanted and allow precise application and lining of the lips. It is a bit difficult to identify the different shades because they are only printed on the body of the lipstick without any colour coding. Other than this minor issue, the packaging of these lipsticks is quite nice.
The Formula
The formula of the Sugar Matte Attack Transferproof Lipsticks is a pure matte with zero sheen, similar to liquid lipsticks. However, it does not feel powdery or dry during application and in fact feels a bit creamy although it does tug at the lips a little bit. The pigmentation of these lipsticks is intense and you will get full opacity in one swipe. The product feels a little tacky on the lips and every time you purse your lips together, they will stick a bit to each other.
The formula feels like a more comfortable version of the Colourpop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks to me, and I feel that these lipsticks are a comfortable alternative to liquid lipsticks in general as they do not feel drying on the lips at all. I also like that despite being a flat matte, the product does not exaggerate the creases or texture on the lips in a hideous way, although it is still advisable to moisturise and scrub your lips before using these lipsticks. These lipsticks barely transfer when you drink something and will stay in place unless you eat a very oily meal. If you don’t eat anything oily then they will last on your lips all day long.

The Shade Range
The Sugar Matte Attack Transferproof Lipsticks are currently available in only 10 shades, which range from pale nudes to deep reds. I do wish that they extend the shade range soon and add more deep nudes to the collection. I picked up 3 shades from the range which I felt would flatter my NC35 skin the most. The shade The Peach Boys is a rusty peach that will look stunning on fair to medium skin tones, the shade Maroon Vibe is a universally flattering Deep Red, and the shade Tan Halen is a dark brown that looks more black under some lights and more maroon under others. If you are a classic red, pink and peach lover then you will like the current shade range but it does lack unique mauves and caramels at the moment.
My verdict on Sugar Matte Attack Transferproof Lipsticks
Overall, I love the formula of the Sugar Matte Attack Transferproof Lipsticks because they are quite comfy for how matte they are. They are more comfortable and hydrating than liquid lipsticks and easier to apply too. The price of INR 699 is a bit steep, but Sugar is always running great deals on their website which you can avail to grab them at a better price. If you are a matte lipstick lover then I will recommend picking up at least one shade from the range.
