If you have no time or money for a full-fledged skincare routine, I will urge you to pick up at least a sunscreen. If you are using actives in your skincare regimen then using a sunscreen during the day is a must because actives increase the photosensitivity of the skin. Yes, even if you don’t wear actives you need sunscreen if you are stepping out and yes, you need it regardless of your age. Some say that sunscreens are the most effective anti-aging products and prevent fine lines and pigmentation too. If you are someone who does not like the slipperiness or tackiness of sunscreens then I have just the right product for you – the Qurez Mattifying Sunscreen. Here is a detailed review of the product.
The Texture
True to its name, the Qurez Mattifying Sunscreen comes in the form of a thick cream that spreads quite easily on my oily skin and settles down to a matte finish. It does not have any slipperiness or sheen whatsoever and does not leave a very stark white cast after I blend it on my skin. If you rub your fingers too vigorously on your face then the product may ball up in certain areas, so make sure to dust it off before stepping out or applying any makeup on top. If you are someone whose face becomes oily and shiny very easily then you will definitely love the mattifying effect of this sunscreen.
The Formula
The Qurez Mattifying sunscreen is a hybrid sunscreen that contains both Benzophenone as well as zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. It has SPF 50 and PA++ to provide protection against both UVA and UVB rays. Due to the high SPF value, it is perfect even for those who spend significant time under direct sunlight or use actives on their skin. You will of course need to reapply this sunscreen every few hours for all-day protection. The formula also contains Aloe Vera, Vitamin E and Matcha Green Tea and feels fairly hydrating on the skin despite being mattifying. I feel that the presence of aloe vera and green tea has helped control my breakouts too and I also love the slight cooling sensation that the sunscreen provides right after application. This makes it even more ideal for those with oily and acne-prone skin.
The product is completely vegan and cruelty-free, and does not contain any artificial fragrance, parabens or phtalates. It does have a strong natural fruity-green tea scent though which some may find irksome.
My Verdict on the Qurez Mattifying Sunscreen
I honestly love this sunscreen more than I thought I would. It spreads and blends beautifully on my skin and leaves it matte but not dry or stretched out. The scent is a little strong for the first few minutes but I do not notice it after that. I also love the fact that this product has helped me with my acne too, but do not expect overnight results on this front. The packaging is travel-friendly as well and ideal for on-the-go touch-ups. If you have been on the hunt for the mattest of matte sunscreen, I will recommend giving the Qurez Mattifying Sunscreen a shot.
