I haven’t tried a large number of products from Palmer’s, but whatever range I have tried so far has surprised me with its unique formulations that are really effective. The Palmer’s Coconut Water Moisturizer and Coconut Sugar Facial Scrub are the most recent products to join this list of amazingly unique formulations from the brand. Read on to find out why I love these products so much!
Let us start with the Palmer’s Coconut Sugar Facial Scrub. This scrub is free of parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, sulfates and dyes. It contains extremely fine coconut sugar particles for exfoliation, non-comedogenic fair trade extra virgin coconut oil for hydration, and chamomile extracts to soothe the skin. Oh, and how could I forget the sweet coconut candy scent of this scrub that makes me want to eat it (I have almost tried once but controlled myself at the last minute!). The product comes in the form of a white cream base with the tiny sugar scrub particles embedded in it. These particles exfoliate the skin thoroughly but do not irritate it at all if you massage it gently instead of rubbing it vigorously on your skin.
My skin does not feel dry or stripped after using the product, and in fact, feels quite supple and hydrated. I will recommend using this scrub once or twice a week because using physical scrubs more frequently on your skin is not advisable. With this frequency of usage, the product will effectively get rid of all the dead skin on the face and will help remove dullness by restoring the natural radiance of the skin. My only complaint with the product is that the twist-up dispenser (as shown in the picture above) although very cool, can get a bit messy because some residual product stays there once you twist the cap back after using the product. This packaging would have worked if there was an additional lid or seal on top of the hole to prevent residual spillage during travelling or storage.
Overall, if you are in the market for a new physical scrub then this one is definitely worth a shot. A 90gm tube is priced at INR 595, which is quite affordable considering how little you need every week. Click here to buy!
Coming to the star of the show, in my opinion, the Palmer’s Coconut Water Facial Moisturizer is one of the most uniquely formulated moisturiser I have tried in a long time. This product looks like a wiggly white jelly in the tub, but provides the nourishment equivalent to that of a rich cream or facial oil. You only need a few dots of the product all over your face to keep your skin hydrated all day long. This product contains coconut water and hyaluronic acid for hydration along with papaya enzymes to brighten the skin. It sinks into the skin within seconds but leaves behind a slight slipperiness (not greasiness) on the face. It works well as a primer underneath matte base makeup during the day because of the slight slip and the supple look that it provides to the skin. It also works well as a soothing and nourishing night cream that has also helped shrink a few acne I had on my skin.
If you want to try only one product from the Palmer’s Coconut range then I will urge you to go for the Coconut Water Facial Moisturizer because the feel, texture and efficacy of this product is quite different from other products in the market. This moisturiser should suit all skin types except perhaps extremely oily skin. A 50gm jar of this moisturizer is priced at INR 850, but you can get it at a discounted price during sales on Nykaa. Do try it once on my recommendation, I am sure you won’t be disappointed. Click here to buy.
