PAC cosmetics recently launched their Take Cover Concealers which took the internet by a storm from the day of the launch. A lot of you requested me to review the concealer on Instagram, and I decided to go one step further to do a comparison of the PAC Cosmetics Take Cover Concealer vs the PAC Cosmetics Spotlight Ready Concealer, both of which I had never used before. I picked up the shade 08 Stark Nude from the Take Cover concealers and the shade 08 Barely Nude from the Spotlight Ready concealers, and here is my review with swatches and comparison of both the concealers.
PAC Take Cover Concealer Review
The Pac Cosmetics Take Cover Concealers come in tubes that are similar to the L.A. Girl concealers but with a doe foot applicator instead of the brush, and I prefer this doe foot applicator so much more. The size of the applicator is similar to that of the Maybelline Fit Me concealers and helps with precise spot concealing. This concealer is quite light-weight and somewhere between a liquid and cream consistency. This concealer provides natural/light coverage with one layer and can be layered to achieve a medium coverage. It is the perfect formula for daily wear and can easily conceal dark circles and pigmentation or spots that are not too intense. The formula does not oxidise on me and stays put for at least 6-8 hours, and is fairly water resistant and sweat proof.
The formula of this concealer reminds a lot of the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer but the PAC Take Cover Concealer has the advantage of having a much wider shade range of 18 shades for concealers and 5 shades for colour correction and is also cruelty-free while being similar in price to the Maybelline Fit Me range. I picked the shade 08 Stark Nude from the range and it is almost a perfect match to my skin tone but perhaps half a shade darker. It works fine at hiding blemishes but I cannot use this shade for brightening my under eye area. When compared to the Maybelline Fit Me concealer in the shade 25 Medium which is also a good match for me for concealing blemishes, Stark Nude is more beige while Fit Me Medium has slightly peachy undertones. Although I do like the shade range of the Take Cover Concealers which caters to fair to deep Indian skin tones, I wish that there were more warm-toned/yellow-toned shades.
Priced at INR 495, the PAC Take Cover Concealer is a great everyday concealer for all skin types that is affordable and effective in my opinion. Click here to buy.
PAC Spotlight Concealer Review
The PAC Spotlight Concealer comes in a luxe packaging with a frosted tube and a black lid. This product too has a doe foot applicator but this one is much bigger than that of the Take Cover Concealer and more suitable for under eye application. The formula of the PAC Spotlight Concealer is super creamy and thicker than that of the Take Cover concealer. It is not too heavy on the skin when you apply one layer but if you will layer this up then it might feel heavy and cakey. Ideally, you shouldn’t need to layer this concealer because it provides full coverage in one swipe. The formula dries down to a flat matte finish and may not be suitable for those with extremely dry skin. It does not crease under my eyes if I prime my skin well and I quite like this formula for concealing my dark circles.
Coming to the shade range, this concealer comes in 14 shades for fair to deep skin tones, but I feel that they could introduce more shades and undertones, especially for deeper skin tones. The shade 08 of this range is called Barely Nude and is significantly lighter than the shade 08 from the Take Cover Concealer. Barely Nude is a shade lighter than my actual skin tone and I can use this as a brightening concealer under my eyes but not for spot concealing unless I am going for a full face of makeup with a heavy contour. I am a little unsure if the shade 09 (Melon) will be a perfect match for me or too dark for me, will let you know if I get around to trying it.
Overall, I feel that the PAC Spotlight Concealer is a well-priced (INR 765) concealer for the full coverage that it provides and is definitely worth trying if you are in the market for a full coverage concealer if you find a shade match. Click here to buy.
PAC Take Cover Concealer vs PAC Spotlight Concealer – My Verdict
While both these concealers live up to their claims, I feel that the PAC Take Cover Concealer is more versatile because you can use it as an everyday concealer and can also layer it for fuller coverage for a special occasion. If you wear light makeup on most days then the PAC Take Cover Concealer will be the right choice for you and if you wear heavier, full coverage makeup on a regular basis then the PAC Spotlight Concealer is the way to go.
