Forest Essentials is a luxury skincare brand that a lot of people swear by, thanks to its pure and natural ingredients and effective formulations inspired by Ayurveda. Everything from the packaging to the quality of these products spell luxury, however, the price point makes it quite expensive for a lot of people. I have always been hesitant to try out the brand due to the price of the products, and was therefore thrilled to receive a few of the Forest Essentials skincare products as PR through Nykaa. I am happy to share my review of the Forest Essentials Delicate Facial Cleanser, Pure Rosewater Facial Toner, and Tejasvi Sheet Mask. Read on to find out my thoughts on these products in case you were planning to try these out.
Forest Essentials Delicate Facial Cleanser – Review
I usually like to switch up my cleansers/ face washes throughout the week but ever since I started using the Forest Essentials Delicate Facial Cleanser with Kashmiri Saffron and Neem, I have not reached out for any other face wash. This in itself is testimony of how phenomenal this face wash is and this product has made me realize why the price tag of Forest Essentials skincare is on the higher end of the spectrum. As soon as I unscrew the lid of the bottle, I am greeted by a strong whiff of saffron, as if I am standing next to a bucket full of saffron strands (not exaggerating). This luxurious scent is testimony of the quality of the face wash which produces a gentle lather on the skin and cleanses the skin well while leaving it super soft.
The brand has only listed the key ingredients on the packaging, which include Glycerin, Marigold extracts, saffron extracts, vitamin E, and rose extracts among a bunch of nourishing ingredients. The formula is gentle and non-drying and is suitable for those with dry to moderately oily skin. It also contains neem leaf extracts and has seemed to calm down the hormonal breakouts on my face.
This face wash is truly a delight to use and is my favourite out of the lot. I will recommend you to try at least the 50ml variant which is priced at INR 325, I am sure you would want to pick up the full-sized product next. To be honest, the 50ml bottle is lasting me a lot of time, so it may not be as expensive as I had thought and is a great way to experience this luxurious brand. Click here to buy.
Forest Essentials Pure Rose Water Facial Toner – Review
Rose water works as a great facial mist and toner for combination to oily skin, but you must invest in pure steam distilled rose water to get the most out of the ingredient. You may have noticed some very affordable rose waters at the drugstore, but one look at their ingredient list will tell you that they contain rose oil instead of steam distilled rose water and also contain other filler ingredients such as fragrance. This is why the rose water from trusted skincare brands is more expensive than those from some of the drugstore brands. The Forest Essentials Pure Rose Water Facial Toner contains 100% steam distilled rose water and nothing else.
This product will provide you all the anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial benefits of rose water and will unclog your pores when used as a toner, leaving your skin refreshed and hydrated. It is of course, as good as any other 100% steam distilled rose water in the market but is slightly more expensive than them, probably because of the luxurious packaging. A 50ml mini is priced at INR 360, while similar products from some other brands are priced at INR 250, but those products do not have packaging half as pretty as this one. So if you are a packaging junkie looking for pure rose water the the Forest Essentials Pure Rose Water Facial Toner is a good pick for you. Click here to buy.
Forest Essentials Tejasvi Ayurvedic Sheet Mask – Review
The Forest Essentials Sheet Masks are probably some of the most expensive sheet masks in India (priced at INR 395 per sheet) but there are a few things that justify the price of this product. Firstly, this sheet mask is made from Organic Cotton Cellulose, which is readily biodegradable as opposed to a number of sheet masks in the market. A lot of people are not supporting sheet masks any more because they tend to be more wasteful than regular serums, but they do work for me, so I reserve these for special occasions only. And since I use sheet masks quite sparingly these days, I can afford to invest in a more expensive one like the Forest Essentials Tejasvi Ayurvedic Sheet Mask, which contains an abundance of skin brightening and repairing ingredients such as Licorice, Camellia, Green Tea and Niacinamide.
This sheet mask comes drenched in the serum and is a white opaque cotton sheet that feels extremely soft and almost jelly-like on the skin. I leave it on for a good 20 minutes on cleansed skin and then leave the residual serum on my face overnight as a moisturiser. The serum is a little sticky but I personally do not mind the tackiness on my skin at night. As soon as I remove the sheet mask, I am greeted by glowy skin that looks plump and well-rested, and the glow stays on my face the next day too. Leaving the serum on overnight helps calm down any acne or inflammation on my skin and makes my skin tone look more even by reducing any redness. I also use the serum on my hands, arms and feet to get maximum use out of the product, and it works well as a brightening moisturiser for these areas too. Overall, I will say that you can try this mask when it is on sale and then decide for yourself if you wish to invest in it again or not but I personally found it superior to all other sheet masks I have tried so far. Click here to buy.
To conclude, I will say that I am happy with all the Forest Essentials skincare products I have tried so far and they will make for excellent gifts during the wedding season too. Let me know if you have tried any other products from this brand and what you would want me to try next!
