An eyeliner on fleek may not solve any of your life’s problems but it will certainly provide a boost to your confidence. Whether you are going for the girl boss vibe at work or for the killer vibe at a party, winged eyeliner will be your best friend. Are you somebody who has struggled with achieving the perfect cat eyes over the years? Blur Cosmetics claims that their I Give Up On Cat Eyes Eyeliner will change your liner game forever and make you ace that wing with ease. Read on to find out my review of this newest eyeliner on the block.
Blur Cosmetics is a new homegrown brand with a range of cruelty-free makeup that caught my eye because their page on Instagram celebrates raw, unfiltered beauty. I was in the need of a new eyeliner at the moment, so I picked up their I Give Up On Cat Eyes Eyeliner (all their products have some really quirky names). This eyeliner comes in a minimalistic white tube with black lettering on it, as does all the makeup from the brand. The packaging is quite simplistic, yet manages to stand out from the rest and is also sturdy and travel-friendly.
Coming to the formula of this eyeliner, it has quite a runny and liquidy consistency but is well-pigmented and smooth to apply. The product comes with a very thin felt tip applicator that allows for precise application and can be used to either draw a thin natural looking liner or to first create the outline of a winged liner and then fill it in. Since the applicator is quite thin, you will have to go in with multiple strokes to create a bold liner look, but this will allow you to customize the thickness of the liner step by step, reducing the chances of error. The formula dries down to a jet black, almost matte colour – it will look matte unless direct light falls on it, under direct light it does have a slight gloss to it. You can check the swatches below to see how it compares to the Sugar Eye Warned You So Double Matte Liner in term of pigmentation, the Sugar one is a true matte while the Blur liner has a slight sheen but both are equally pigmented in my opinion.
The only con of this liner as per my experience is that it takes a significant time to dry, perhaps due to its liquidy formula, so it may not be the best option if you are in a hurry. However, if you have the time to sit and carefully perfect that wing then this liner is a great choice. It is completely smudge-proof and lasts on my eyes all day long. I wouldn’t say that it is waterproof, because it will get rubbed off when wet, but it is definitely water-resistant, which means that if you don’t rub it when a few drops of water fall on it, it will not budge on its own. Priced at INR 599, I feel that this liner is a good mid-range option for those who want their liner to always be on fleek.
UPDATE FROM THE FUTURE – Hi guys, recently some customers have been facing issues with the quality of lipsticks from this brand. While no issues have been reported regarding this liner, I will recommend holding off on your purchase until the brand issues a statement regarding this matter. Will keep this space updated accordingly.
