If you have been following me since way back when, you would know that I love the Lakme Insta Eye Liner in the original black shade and think that it is best affordable matte black liner out there. The brand recently released 3 more shades of this liner, a pretty blue, a unique green, and a shimmery gold. I was tempted to try all three but restrained myself to buy only the golden one. Here are my thoughts on this eyeliner.
The new shades in the Lakme Insta Liner range come in the original packaging which resembles a nail polish bottle, but with a super thin paintbrush like applicator. I have heard some people complain about this brush but I personally love it and am able to control it really well, perhaps because the Lakme black liner was the first liner that I ever used. One bottle is priced at INR 120 only and contains 9ml of product. This bottle will last you a lifetime, I promise, and the formula is liquidy, so it doesn’t dry up.
The shade Golden is a shimmery, yellow toned gold which has a liquidy consistency. You will need to apply 2-3 layers of this liner to get full opacity and a shimmery metallic finish. It takes a little bit of time to dry down on the skin, but once it dries down, it lasts all day on the lids. It is, however, not waterproof or smudgeproof, so you have to be careful not to rub your eyes if you have this liner on. If you look at it from up close, it does not give a chrome metallic finish but more of a shimmery metallic finish, but from far, it can pass off as a chrome finish. You can also use it all over the lid, on top of a cream eyeshadow, as a golden shadow.
Overall, I am quite happy with what this liner delivers for a mere price of INR 120. I do need to build up the pigmentation, but the final look it gives is great for the price. If you are in the market for a budget-friendly golden liner then do pick this one up, and the other shades of this liner are worth checking out too!
