Lakme 9 to 5 Primer + Matte Lipstick - Fuchsia File | Review & Swatches

As cliched as it may sound, a girl can never have enough lipsticks! Right when I did a massive clearout of my makeup stash, the Lakme 9 to 5 Primer + Matte Lipstick in the shade Fuchsia File landed at my doorstep. This bright pink lipstick is completely summer-appropriate and perfect for matte lipstick lovers. Read on to check out my full review and swatches!

The Lakme 9 to 5 makeup range is known for its longevity and each product is formulated to last all day long. True to this theme, the 9 to 5 Primer + Matte Lipsticks contain primer and lip colour in one bullet to prep the lips and enhance the longevity of the lipstick. The lipsticks come in a beautiful rose gold packaging which looks quite high end for the price of INR 450. The bullets come in a slanted shape that provides precise application.

The formula is extremely pigmented and provides opaque colour in a couple of swipes. The lipstick provides a powdery matte finish on the lips and since it is a bullet lipstick, it is more comfortable to wear than liquid lipsticks. As for the longevity, this lipstick does last on the lips for a good 6-8 hours without needing touch-ups. It transfers a little if you eat or drink something but does not visibly fade from the lips unless you eat something very oily. However, since the finish is an almost perfect matte, you will need to ensure that your lips are hydrated and scrubbed so that no texture peeks through.

The shade range of this collection is pretty versatile, ranging from nudes and browns to pinks and reds, with a total of 36 shades. I picked the shade Fuchsia File which is a bright, almost neon fuchsia. This shade is definitely one of the brighter shades from the range and is more suitable for a day out in the summer. It will look good on fair to medium Indian skintones and will go well with both western and Indian outfits. If you are a fan of bright colours that pop then you will surely like this shade.

Overall, this lipstick provides good value for money and is one of the mattest bullet lipsticks from the drugstore price range.
