A good sunscreen lotion is a skincare essential for everyone, regardless of age, gender, or lifestyle. Now that the sweltering heat is here in most parts of India and the sun is shining bright, it has become all the more important to slather yourself with some sunscreen every day. What I prefer is a sunscreen that is lightweight and matte, with a high SPF because I spend quite some time in the sun every day. Here is why the Lakme Sun Expert Ultra Matte Lotion is a staple for me.
The Lakme Sun Expert Ultra Matte Lotion contains SPF 50 PA++ +and provides protection from UVA and UVB rays, thereby preventing sunburns, dark spots and photo ageing. The product comes packaged in a travel-friendly bright yellow tube which is perfect for the creamy formulation of this sunscreen lotion. The product is not too thick and sinks into the skin with ease, leaving behind a matte, non-greasy finish and the fresh scent of cucumbers. I love the fact that it does not add any white streaks to the skin, unlike certain sunscreen lotions. It does not feel heavy or clog the pores and you will basically not feel this product on your skin. The formula also contains Vitamin B3 and cucumber extracts which provide hydration and a soothing effect. The brand recommends applying the lotion on the face and body 20 minutes before sun exposure and also suggests to reapply the product every 3-4 hours, which is where the hassle-free tube packaging comes in handy.
As you can see in the images below, the product gets absorbed into the skin really easily and does not leave behind any greasiness or streaky lines. Hence, it is perfect to be worn on its own or under makeup.
If you have oily skin then this lotion can double up as a day cream because it provides enough hydration to keep the skin moist yet non-greasy. As for protection against the sun, you can’t really go wrong with SPF 50 PA+++. I love this product for its light-weight formula, summery scent, and efficacy. Also, the price of INR 270 for a 50ml tube is extremely affordable because products with such high SPF values are usually quite expensive.
I have been using the Lakme Sun Expert range for a long time and none of the products have failed to impress me so far. This sunscreen lotion is definitely one of my top picks for matte sunscreens this summer. I will highly recommend all of you to try out this product, I am sure you won’t be disappointed!
