Lakme Absolute Skin Gloss Reflection Serum | Review

Posted on April 1, 2019March 31, 2019 by Mrinalini

Be it the glass skin from Korea or the high-shine makeup looks from international runways, glossy skin is in at the moment. However, achieving the finish of glossy skin in the hot and humid Indian weather can be tricky because you don’t want to end up looking like a greasy sweatball! The Lakme Absolute Skin Gloss Reflection Serum is a great product that solves this problem by providing a reflective shine to the skin without making it oily or greasy. Read on to find out how I use this product to get that flattering glow even in the summer months!

Lakme Absolute Skin Gloss Reflection Serum | Review

The Lakme Absolute Skin Gloss Reflection Serum is essentially a water-based serum that provides non-greasy hydration and a reflective glow to the skin. The formulation is in the form of a translucent white gel-like serum that comes packaged in a luxurious looking blue bottle with a very unique twist-up pump. Not only is the packaging very chic and luxe, it is also leakproof and travel-friendly, which I love.

Coming to the product itself, a couple of pumps is sufficient for the face and neck and the serum sinks into the skin in a jiffy. The formula provides instant hydration to the skin and has a soothing effect too. It works well as the first step of the moisturization routine, and you can top it up with a cream or facial oil as per your skin type. On its own, it provides sufficient hydration for oily skin. What sets this product apart is the beautiful reflective glow that it provides to the face, which sets a nice base for a glowy makeup look. The formula also has a very slight stickiness to it, which makes it perfect to be used as a glowy primer. Bear in mind that this product has a cologne-like fragrance, which I personally do not mind and my skin has not shown any adverse reactions to this fragrance.

I am not a makeup pro, but here is a glass skin inspired look that I created using this serum as a primer. Glass skin is basically a Korean makeup trend which makes use of multiple layers of hydrating and glowy products to give a dewy and glasslike translucent finish to the skin. My interpretation of this trend involved a facial oil and lots of highlighter, with this serum providing the reflective glow from beneath.

Overall, if you are someone with oily skin who wants to flaunt the glow sans the oil then this product is tailormade for you. Even those with dry skin can use this serum by layering it with other moisturizers. Priced at INR 990 for 30ml, this product is a good investment because it will last you for months and will add an effortless glow to your face!
