I have a theory that once you start using mascara on a daily basis, you cannot go back. While volumizing and thickening mascaras provide a butterflylike flutter to the lashes for a special occasion, a lengthening, non-clumpy mascara can complement a daily makeup look perfectly. I prefer Maybelline mascaras because they usually do not disappoint me, and recently picked up their Hyper Curl Mascara in the washable variant because I had not tried this one yet. Here is my review of this product after testing it out for several weeks.
The Maybelline Hyper Curl Mascara does live up to its name because it visibly lifts the lashes and adds a significant curl to them without the need of an eyelash curler. The brush is designed in such a manner that the product does not clump on the lashes during application and the formula has a nice lengthening effect as well. This mascara lifts and lengthens the lashes such that it opens up the eyes and provides a clean and awake look without looking over the top. It is perfect for daily wear and can easily be worn with neutral or no makeup to work. However, if you are looking for a volumizing mascara then this formula will not satisfy your requirement. If you are looking for volume as well as curl then you can pair this mascara with a volumizing one to achieve a more dramatic look.
While I love this mascara to add a bit of length and curl to my lashes with simple makeup looks, I have observed that it is a little difficult to remove at the end of the day even though I have the washable variant. Other washable Maybelline mascaras that I have used come off easily with water or any makeup remover but this one tends to ball up during removal and clings to the lashes a bit. This is the only downside of the mascara in my opinion because I have to be extra cautious to ensure that I get all the product out of my lashes.
Overall, I really like this mascara to achieve a “my lashes but better” look and the price point of INR 300 is quite pocket-friendly too. I only wish that I can find a way to remove it easily without being rough on my sensitive eyes. If you have any makeup remover suggestions for this particular mascara then do let me know in the comments below!
