While I love my aluminium-free, natural deodorants during the colder months, they just don’t work well enough for me in the hot summer months. I literally turn into a sweat ball by the end of the day, and so I need to resort to something stronger, at the cost of giving up on clean ingredients. I have used the Dove Go Fresh anti-perspirants in all their fragrance variants since I was a schoolgirl, and while they worked really well for me, I had become tired of their scents. Now that they introduced a new scent – the Pomegranate and Lemon Verbena variant – I was drawn by the brand again. I feel that the world is divided into two groups when it comes to Dove products. People either hate the brand or love it to bits. I personally have been satisfied with most of the products from Dove that I have tried to date and feel that they are fairly gentle on the skin while being effective. While their Go Fresh anti-perspirant does contain aluminium, it feels very gentle on my underarms as compared to other deodorants and anti-perspirants that I have used that contain similar chemicals. Dove claims that the product contains 1/4th moisturising cream, and my underarm area does feel hydrated when I use this anti-perspirant.
Since this product is an anti-perspirant, as opposed to a deodorant, it prevents excessive sweating, keeping the under-arm area dry and smelling good throughout the day. It does work for a good 6-8 hours in fairly high temperatures, making it my go-to product for when I have a long day ahead. I also love the fruity citrusy scent which is not too sweet or overpowering, more like a clean scent but fruity. Also, the pink of the packaging somehow draws me to this product even more 😛
The product is priced at an affordable INR 225 for a 150ml can but you can get it for even cheaper at online stores. I feel that if you prefer using anti-perspirants then you should give the Dove Go Fresh range a try. I will definitely be restocking this throughout this summer!
