Simple is a skincare brand that I have heard a large number of British beauty bloggers rave about over the years because their products are mild, effective and affordable. I was overjoyed to see that Simple finally launched their products in India on Nykaa.com and that they kept the prices in line with the drugstore prices in India, unlike some of the international drugstore brands that charge exorbitant amounts in India. The brand has launched their moisturisers, face wash, micellar water and micellar cleansing wipes on Nykaa and while I wanted to try all of them, I picked up only the wipes to begin with because I had a bunch of travelling to do. Here are my thoughts on these micellar cleansing wipes after using them on both heavy and light makeup.
The Simple Micellar Cleansing Wipes live up to their name and do not contain any harsh ingredients. These wipes are made out of soft fibres, contain mineral plant extracts, and are devoid of any artifical perfume or dyes. They claim to be suitable for sensitive skin and also claim to hydrate and sooth while removing makeup. They come in a pack of 25 wipes priced at INR 325, which is quite reasonable for the quality in my opinion.
Starting with the packaging of the product, I do like the fact that one pack will last me more than 20 days and appreciate the minimalistic design of the packaging which reflects the ideology of the brand. I do however wish that they had a plastic lid instead of a sticker-based opening because plastic lids are sturdier and prevent the wipes from drying out to a larger extent. Having said that, the sticker of their packaging does work quite well and has not lost its stickiness over the weeks that I have been using the product, so I can’t really complain much.
Coming to the efficacy of these makeup wipes, they do tick all the right boxes for me by being gentle yet effective at removing most of my face makeup in one go. These wipes can remove around 85% of your makeup in case you wear waterproof liner, liquid lipsticks or other long-wearing makeup products, and if you wear more light weight makeup then one wipe should be able to remove more than 90% of your makeup. I do go in with a face wash after using the wipe but if you wear super light weight makeup then you can probably get away without going for a double cleanse on a busy day because these wipes do not leave any detectable residue on the skin. What I also love about these makeup wipes is that they do not irritate the skin or the eyes at all and literally feel like water on the skin while being refreshing and hydrating. Although, I have to say that they do not smell very nice, but this is because they do not contain any artificial perfume. Trust me, you will get used to the weird smell of these wipes within a couple of uses, and it is better than exposing your skin to perfumes that can irritate it or make it break out.
Overall, the Simple Micellar Cleansing Wipes are the best makeup wipes that I have tried till now and they provide excellent value for money. While I am more of a micellar water girl on most days, I lean towards makeup wipes when I am travelling due to the sheer convenience they provide. These makeup wipes are definitely going to be my travel companions for all my future escapades and I highly recommend you to try them out if you are on the lookout for something similar and especially if you have sensitive and acne-prone skin. Simple has definitely managed to impress me so far and I will surely be trying out more products from the brand in the future and reviewing them for all of you. Until then, do try out these makeup wipes and let me know how they work for you!
Like must have types……will definitely get my hands on these…..
Micellar water is great and face wipes make getting ready so easy! Combining them is awesome (:
I have used this, it’s not bad but doesn’t remove make up fully. I would anyway prefer Garnier’s micellar water. It’s affordable
wish they were available in regular stores as well
sound so good
