I am a die-hard fan of the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation, which is why I grabbed the Maybelline Super Stay 24 Hr Full Coverage Foundation as well as soon as it launched on Nykaa.com. The Maybelline Super Stay Foundation claims to be a matte, full coverage foundation that does not budge for 24 hours. Read on to find out if this product lived up to its claims on my face!
The Maybelline Super Stay Foundation comes in a packaging similar to the Fit Me Foundation but..but..but, it has a pump! And yes, the cap on this one is white. I am a shade 230 in the Fit Me Range but this range did not have that shade (9 shades are available on Nykaa at the moment), so I picked up the shade 220 – Natural Beige, hoping for the best. This shade looks slightly grey toned when pumped out on the hand but does not seem cool toned when applied on the skin. It also oxidises a little a few minutes after application and while it seemed a little too light for me right after application, it pretty much darkened down to my skin tone afterwards.
Formulation-wise, the foundation has a very blendable consistency and is not too thick, which I like. It spreads easily on the skin without looking heavy or cakey and provides an ultra-matte finish. It is definitely a full-coverage foundation and covers everything without the help of a concealer, except for extremely intense dark circles. Even though it is a super matte formula, the product does not feel drying or suffocating on my combination skin, and does not seem to exaggerate any texture on my face. However, it can look a little flat on its own unless you have very oily skin. I personally prefer to use a facial oil before applying this foundation so that it does not look as flat on my skin. Also, I prefer to bronze my face or at least use a blush afterwards to provide more dimension to my face. The foundation stays put on my face throughout the day without any setting spray or powder and even though I haven’t tested it for 24 hours, I can safely say that it will last you for a good 12 hours at least.
Priced at INR 750, these foundations are decently priced considering that you need only a pump or two for the entire face and neck. The pump dispenser makes this foundation super convenient to use when you are in a rush or are travelling, although I am not a big fan of the white pump and lid as they tend to look messy after a few days. I only wish that they bring out a wider range of shades in India soon because there aren’t many options for deeper skin tones at the moment. Overall, if you love a full-coverage matte foundation then you need to try this one out, especially if you have oily skin!
