I had recently reviewed the Plum Olive & Macadamia Hair Mask on the blog and had not been as impressed with the product as I had expected. I had mentioned then that I will try the mask again with the shampoo and conditioner from the range to see how the trio works together. As promised, here is my review of the shampoo, conditioner and mask as a combo.
Starting with the Plum Olive and Macadamia Shampoo, this product has a very lovely pleasant smell and a slightly liquidy texture. It foams quite readily and leaves the scalp feeling squeaky clean with a very small amount of product. However, it does leave the hair feeling slightly stripped, so using a conditioner along with this shampoo is a must.
It is the conditioner from the range that surprised me the most. Since this range is meant for dry and damaged chemically treated hair, I was expecting the conditioner to be quite rich in texture, however it turned out to be very milky and liquidy, unlike any other conditioner I have used. It does a decent job at smoothening rough hair, but again, does not impart as much softness to them as I would have liked.
Paired with the mask, I did get slightly better results than the last time that I had used the mask on its own. My hair did feel smoother and less damaged, but the softness I was craving for was still missing. So overall, the Plum Olive and Macadamia Range only gets 3 out 5 stars from me for my hair type, which is fine and rough hair with oily roots. I have heard better reviews of the range from other bloggers, so maybe these products may work for you if your hair type is different from mine. Personally, I find that the products are decent but I won’t repurchase them because they are slightly expensive for what they do.
