Plum has already established itself as an amazing skincare brand in India with its vegan, cruelty-free and extremely effective products, and now they have launched their haircare range too! The brand has come up with two shampoos, a conditioner, and a hair mask, and I ended up buying the Olive and Macadamia Mega Moisturising Hair Mask on the day of the launch itself! Here is my review of the product after using it a couple of times.
About the Product (from the Plum website) – A treat, and not just a deep conditioning treatment, for your hair. Deep moisturizing, nourishing hair mask made with love from olive oil, macadamia oil, shea butter and loads of other do-gooders for stressed out tresses. Specially processed pro-vitamin B5 and film-forming hair protectants shield hair from pollution and UV. This silicone-free hair mask moisturizes, softens and deep-nourishes chemically-treated, damaged hair. Use once or twice a week for hair that looks, and indeed is, healthier, softer and shinier.
My Experience – The Plum Mega Moisturising Hair Mask comes in a huge white tub and the packaging is sleek and minimalistic as has always been the case with the brand. The mask is in the form of a thick white cream that has a pleasant natural scent that I quite enjoy. The brand recommends applying this product evenly throughout wet hair, trying to cover each strand as well as possible. This is a little difficult considering the texture of the product which is thick and not very spreadable. In any case, after application, you are supposed to leave the mask on for at least 20 minutes before rinsing off.
I used this hair mask straight after shampooing my hair, without using a conditioner, thinking that since the mask contains rich ingredients like olive and macadamia oil, using a conditioner might not be necessary. On its own, this hair mask does condition the hair and soften them, but it does not provide as much shine and smoothness to the hair as I had expected. I have really long, waist length hair that gets tangled pretty easily and this product does a good job at keeping them tame, but the results were not “spectacular”. I feel that I need to pair it with the shampoo and conditioner of this range to get the fabulous results that I was expecting.
Overall, I feel that this is a decent mask but nothing too amazing on its own. Also, working this formula into really long hair can be a little difficult and you will need a lot of product per wash if you have hair as long as mine, which makes the price of INR 875 for a 250gm jar seem a little pricey. I will try the product out with the shampoo and conditioner before passing my final verdict on this hair mask but for now, I can say that it does work well but did not meet the expectations that I had from the brand.

First review I rad on this product
Thanks for your honesty
Even I thought it was a bit pricey
Will wait for your final verdict before buying
Will definitely post an update soon!
I was looking for someone to review it. I personally have really long wavy hair so this will definitely help.
I’ve only used a hair mask 1 or 2 times, but I don’t think it works well since I just have SO much hair haha
