Matte lipsticks are definitely my jam but sometimes my lips need something a little more hydrating, which is why I recently picked up 2 shades from the Sugar Never Say Dry Creme Lipstick Collection. I went for the shades 06 Raisin Helen and 07 Mauve Actually, and here is what I think about these lippies.
The formula of the Sugar Never Say Dry Creme Lipsticks is super creamy, soft, and intensely pigmented. It glides on the lips and provides even pigmentation in one swipe. The lipsticks have a slight sheen to them but are not too glossy and do not contain any shimmer. They are pretty buttery, and while they do not slide too much on the lips, application will be a little easier if you use a liner first.
The shade Raisin Helen is a beautiful yellow-toned brown which will be a nice deep nude for most Indian skin tones. It is warm toned without being rusty and is a great alternative to a pinky nude. On the other hand, the shade Mauve Actually is a much bolder colour which is a deep mauve, almost like a toned down version of a plum shade. This shade too will suit all Indian skin tones but will look better for an outing or special occasion than for daily wear.
Since the formula is not matte, it is obviously not super long-lasting, but it does stay put on the lips for a good 4-5 hours if you do not eat anything. It transfers while eating but fades pretty gracefully, leaving a light wash of colour behind. Also, my lips feel super nourished when I use these lipsticks, so I do not mind reapplying them every 4 hours or so. Priced at INR 499, these lipsticks are quite good for the price and the quality is really impressive, so do check out the shade range of this collection if you are on the hunt for creamy lipsticks.
