Unless you are living under a rock, you must have heard by now that the Maybelline Gigi Hadid collection has finally launched in India. When I saw the international reviews of this collection, I felt that the range was just a marketing gimmick – old products in new packaging, and decided that I will not give in to the beauty of the blush-colored products. However, when I heard both Shreya Jain and Corallista talk about the Matte Lipstick in the shade Erin, I was sucked in! This lipstick is the classic example of “YouTube made me buy it”. Read on to find out whether I loved or regretted the purchase.
There is no denying that the packaging of the Gigi Hadid collection is BEAUTiful. The blush pink packaging is classic and feminine without being cheesy or too girly, and the lettering on the packaging, and even the cardboard box that holds the product, is holographic, making the entire process of unboxing and looking at the goodies inside all the more exciting. The actual lipstick is a gorgeous shade of deep mauve, with a very very faint trace of brown in it. This shade is more of a nudish mauve on my pigmented lips and medium skin tone, but on fairer Indian skin tones, it will look slightly bolder- a shade that you can wear when you want to make a statement without going overboard with a bright red or purple. This shade of mauve is quite unique, and will go well with neutral or cool toned makeup and outfits. Perhaps a little too deep for daily wear for some, but definitely a great choice for a day out or even an evening event.
The formula is one of the better lipstick formulas from Maybelline, it is intensely pigmented, offering opacity in one swipe, and has a creamy matte texture when swatched. On the lips, it gives a pure matte finish, while being comfortable and not drying the lips. It is not completely transfer-proof and will fade a little every time you eat or drink something, but it does fade gracefully and evenly. The pigmentation starts to fade after 3-4 hours of wear but does visibly stay put for around 6-7 hours. Overall, there is not much I can complain about regarding the formula, and I am sure all the matte lipstick lovers will agree.
While the other reds and nudes from the Gigi Hadid lipstick collection did not wow me, Erin, a gorgeous mauve, was definitely a good investment. The price point of INR 550 seems reasonable to me too. While I won’t be purchasing anything else from the range at the moment, I have heard good things about the eyeliner as well, and although these products were repackaged versions of existing products in the USA, for India these are new because the original products weren’t ever launched here. If I am to judge the collection based on this one lipstick, I would say that it is worth the money to try out a product or true, especially if you are a makeup enthusiast.

Thank you love 🙂
Looks amazing on you! The packaging is gorgeous. This seems like one of those shades which look different in the tube and when you wear it.
Yes, it is lighter and more nudish on the lips than it looks in the bullet.
This shade is so good!! ❤❤

Gorgeous shade!
Once I tried a brand that I never heard of before. And the matte lipstick eventually dried out and started cracking up and breaking while wearing it. The only way to counteract that was to reapply often. I won’t be buying that again.
