I know, I know, I am too late to the party. In fact, the bandwagon has left without me, but I FINALLY bought myself not one but two NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams, and even though there are already a ton of reviews of this product on the web, I thought that maybe some of you will care for my two cents? I have become a huge fan of nude lips lately, so I went for two nude shades, Zurich and Abu Dhabi, which look very similar when you see the packaging but are actually quite different when applied to the lips.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams are cult products that almost every beauty blogger raves about. They have a matte but comfortable formula, a slightly moussier texture than a liquid lipstick but similar pigmentation and longevity. If you are a matte lipstick lover like me then they are the perfect alternative to a super dehydrating matte lip colour for the winter months. They glide on like a dream, provide an opaque colour in one swipe, set within a few minutes, and stay more or less in place for up to 5 hours. It is no wonder that this lip cream formula has been a favourite of all makeup lovers over the years.
Coming to the negatives of this product, the formula does tend to cling to any dry patches on the lips, so an exfoliator is a must if you have chapped lips. Also, it is not completely transfer-proof and the colour does fade a little each time you eat something. However, they do fade quite gracefully, without becoming patchy or streaky, and leave an even wash of colour on the lips. Also, they have the strong scent of candies which you may not like if you are sensitive to fragrances but I do not mind it because it fades within some time.

The shade Zurich is a pinky nude which is deep enough to suit most Indian skin tones and is a nice everyday colour. Abu Dhabi, on the other hand is a paler, peachy nude with brown undertones. It is a true nude for my skin tone and may wash out deeper skin tones. I personally enjoy it with darker eye makeup or on no-makeup days.
Overall, I do enjoy the formula and colour of these lip creams and love that they are matte but not dehydrating. The price of INR 600 seems a little steep considering that there are dupes from Miss Claire and other brands available at less than half the price but I have personally not tried those yet. The shade range is also amazing and I am sure everyone will find a colour of their choice. So if you are looking for a comfortable matte formula for your dry lips this winter then the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams might be worth a shot.
The colours you chose are really nice. This is a fab review! I haven’t yet tried these lipsticks xx

Thank you love 🙂
Don’t worry, I’ve never even tried these before so you’re not too late!! 😄 These definitely sound like I need to finally try them out though. Regular liquid lipsticks are sooo drying, and I prefer a creamier look for lipstick, so. Thanks for sharing this review 🙂
Haha, thank you 🙂
Loved Zurich a bit more! I already have 5 shades yet NYX smlc never cease to amaze me. 🤗
Im definitely gonna buy more shades 🙂
I love these soft matte lip creams & these shades look so lovely on you! 🙂
Thank you 🙂
I’ve seen these around a lot lately! I might pick a shade or two up after reading this, thanks for sharing your review (:
You must try them. The formula is lovely 🙂
Beautifull nude shades 💞💞
Thanks love 🙂
totally love the shades on you , but i also have heard that the durability of NYX lip cremes aren’t that great. They tend to fade off . How about your suggestion for the same?
They stay completely opaque for 3-4 hours if you don’t eat or drink anything. After which they tend to fade. If you have dry lips, they may exaggerate that a bit after 4 hours, otherwise they fade quite evenly and leave a lighter coat of colour. However, you can reapply after 4 hours to get back the opacity 🙂
Hey, thanks for the suggestion!
You are most welcome!
I hav this in Budapest and absolutely love love lovveee it.
